I dont think AAVs should be dual operated.
It'd take too many players from the battle, ontop of the already large amount of players taken from infantry units, on combined arms maps.
You could argue do the same with all the other armour, then but i dont think AAVs, in most aspects, fill they're roll well enough and/or as closely to as RL as they should.
I don understand it's hard to implement them properly, with the whole balance issue and all.

I think the balance issue of having a vehicle like that is that usually you'd try and take down those things before sending in the BHs. Infantry or CAS takes those suckers down and then the rest move in.
Careless or lack of leadership though seems to lead to situations where people think something is imbalanced.
