Operation Firefly
So according to the map description on Fool's Road, the British operation to capture the militia leader is called "Operation Firefly."
In a nutshell: lame.
Military Operations should have awesome names in order to boost troop morale. Things like Operation Overlord, Operation Barracuda, Operation DesertStorm, not "Operation Sissyfly."
Therefore I propose that the attack against the militia be renamed has "Operation Headshot". Badass? You be the judge.

Re: Operation Firefly
I like Dragonfly, let's stick with that. The notorious arms-dealer is only known as the Dragonfly, because it symbolizes him being most elusive.
In the briefing, it designates this whole attack as "Operation Dragonfly", it isn't the guy's name.

Military is not supposed to be "cool". The commercials may be going for that but not serious military operations. How badass does Iraqi Freedom sound? Theres plenty more for you hate as well.Antonious_Bloc wrote:Either way, still not as cool as "headshot"![]()

Re: Operation Firefly
Operation Menace, Op Ironclad, Op Atilla, Op Chengiz Khan, Op Flaming Dart, Op WatchTower, Op Cerberus, Op Stalemate, Op Desert Storm, all of which were real operations with pretty sweet names. Military Terminology doesn't have to be boring, you know.

Re: Operation Firefly
You do know that those are all heavy combat operations and not peacekeeping ones. Go to where eve you found those and look for peacekeeping missions and youll see how hardcore they sound. By the way Dragonfly is a peacekeeping operation.

Operation Headshot...
Im sorry, but even Snipers would blush at how lame that really is.
"Kay.. Operation BOOM HEADSHOT is a go! Lol!!!!2"
Most of the other operation names were named after great leaders, operation descriptions (generalised), tactical names, or mythology.
"headshot" does not count in any of those.

Re: Operation Firefly
operation market garden, sounds like a trip to the grocery store.
operation sea lion, A Sea-lion makes me think of a furry marrine mammal that plays with shells.
operation paper clip, the logical escalation would be, operation stapler.
operation cactus. no comment.
operation Peter Pan, look at me! I can fly!
operation Phibriglex, is that a word?
operation Menu, Watier, bill please.
there are plenty of operation with decidedly un-cool names.

Re: Operation Firefly
I would like to leave the maps "names" to the creator of the map...
Since they put all the effort into making something as cool as a map.
Antonious_Bloc.... Make your own maps so you can name it.
Firefly acually sounds cool
Rhino is a very good mapper too.
^you did make fools road right?
OGT rules anyway!
