The Apache is a lie!

Kay. Study this picture please:

Now this one:

Now go in game, and press the left control and look to the side as far as you can.

There's the problem.

In real life, AND in 0.6 (I dont know about 0.75, dont wanna check yet, not important) You can clearly see the pilot from the side in the Apache.

However, in game, the pilot has about a 90 degree view centered infront of him.

Apache-newest, most powerful and technologically advanced Attack helicopter in the game at the moment.

Cant get the electronics to work right, and make it have more weapons, since IRL it doesnt.. but also making it have significantly less field of view then ALL other Attack Helis?

That's all DEVs! Starting to hate me yet? =D (Should be a really quick fix... move the canopy back (like in your misleading pictures) and get the field of vision to be greater! Kthx)

there 2 different versions of the heli. Hence differnt things. Not a big thing. Don't think devs will fix it.

Show me these versions. In and out of game..

Here's the WAH-64 Longbow Apache, right out of the raf.mod.uk website: Clearly see the side view of the pilot:

AH-64D Apache:

Same thing!

Mcdonald Douglas version?
Simple AH-64?

If I understand you correctly, the reason would be the low position of the first person BF2 viewpoint, which is not infact at the head of the player model but in the chest. So in reality, you are looking out from the chest which is lower down and you don´t get such a good viewpoint out of the canopy.

It's the SIDE's that are the problem.. being lower shouldnt change anything.

I've looked at the Mi-28 and the Z-10 canopies-They have less glass then the Apache, and still have more view. The Cobra is about the same as the Apache, maybe more glass because of it's cockpit shape.

All choppers in pr have the view point in the head. Look at the black windows hovering in front of the pilot and gunner. Thats where the view point is. But i have to agree the apache could use more view. And if its realistic i am all in for it :)

I'm just surprised out of all the helicopters to nitpick about, the AH-1W Cobra hasn't been harassed yet. Since having the gunners huge melon sitting down and infront of the pilots HUD view.

yes, more view would be nice :-)

But if you talk about the models and so on, then in PR is the Wrong one... Take not the Model of The Longbow, because we have no Radar and so its more the A Version :-)

Do you mean when you look ctrl+left or ctrl+right as a pilot, your vision is partially obscured by the apache inner window-frame?

Shouldn't we be more concerned about the innards and the flying practises?

Like the UK version has replicated electronics behind the pilot, so if the main components are damaged then the rear set takes over. This allows for riskier moves on the battlefield as in effect the UK version could potentially take more "damage" before needing to bug out of combat. And the UK version can engage from higher altitude, no?

Though this should be the case, it would make the Apache unbalanced versus any other helicopter. Since it technically is at the moment one anyway (because of the lessened view), it should be brought up to the level of the other helicopters.

Ugh, technically, the Z-10 is the newest ingame, it's so new that DICE even got the model wrong (allegedly).

According to Sinodefence.com, The Zhisheng-10 first flew on April 29th of 2003.

and according to Army-technology.com The Apache first flew in 1989.

Conclusion: You are right, but the Chinese make bad helicopters =)
