UV map is 95% done, I'll try and skin it. If anyone with previous skinning/texturing experience want to give this a shot, by all means PM me :)

I agree we need some equal weapons to the British Scorpion. And while this one and the one in the works for the MEC Vodnik version IMHO would work well for some nice and alternitive weapons for infantry to use against those Scorpions.

BTW I know this one is real but is the Vodnik one a real life vehicle as well?

I'm done with UV mapping and am having trouble finding a good tool to turn the UV map to a editable picture.

Anyone got recommendations? I've tried textporter so far and the skin came out all fuzzy...

textporter is the best one I know of, try different settings.

ya this looks good....so far i only seen new things for Mec and US..but not china..this is kinda needed

For the moment use DXT5 no mipmaps, the mipmaps ought to be generated once the actual texture has been created. Though I'm a little unfamilar with that program texporter..

That looks like your trying to save as dds from 3ds max when rendering your UV map. Save as something like a bmp, then edit in photoshop, and save in photoshop as what Chuc said.

Yeah, That was 3ds 9. Would it make a difference if I saved it as DXT5 through the 3ds though?

Nvidia released a normal map filter plugin, here it is.

crazybump isnt all bad either, but I tend to use Nvidias filter since its easier when I'm already messing around with the textures in PS.

Note: I realize the color scheme does not match my reference pictures I've posted. I'm trying to match the color scheme of the vehicles already in game

Looking great, good start.


Needs more lighting on the texture though. Try rendering an Ambient Occlusion Map and overlaying it on your texture.
