handbreak button

Post by Nick The Bubble »

After playing a round using mostly AAVs, I got really annoyed with their tendency to constantly edge backwards on flat surfaces, and for them to constantly slide down hills. Not only is this unrealistic (if a tank can't stop itself from sliding down a hill then it doesn't have enough grip to get up it by default) it is also really really annoying. The same applies for all vehicles, but mostly armored ones with zoom sights. I searched but couldn't come up with anything, so is this a viable option?

There was a thread about breaks already, or more than one. Of course i agree, but as far as i remember it was rather difficult to do that, if possible at all. But dont quote me on that, maybe its possible. Has been talked about however.

If it can be done with field dressings, can it be done with vehicles? I know that vehicles and items are wholly separate entities in the BF2 engine, but I don't know how field dressings are rooted to the ground in 0.75 and whether this can be used on vehicles without more hacking.

Ask Jonny or Mosquill, they know everything; if they don't know it, they know how to find out.

To prevent the APC from sliding, switch to a back seat for one second and then go back to driver's seat. Should help.

Pursuing this idea, for chopppers, a " stability " button could be nice, u press the button and the chopper is then stable, so that the gunner can shoot without being annoyed from the little movements.

Could this possibly be simulated in the same way that hurt cars have it? (When they sink into the ground?)
Or possibly just making the vehicle very heavy...

The stabalization for the Heli is more of a macro IMO >.<

I have three main rules in life...

(1) Never smoke in front of mum
(2) Never by soft-drinks at drive-throughs with ramps.
(3) Never, Ever drive armour on jagged terrain in PR!!!
