Project Reality Mapping Guidelines: Vehicle Spawn Times

I think a 7 minute decay timer really punishes people for leaving vehicles in the middle of nowhere. Can you imagine if you came back to your CO and said "Yeah uh... we lost the M1 somewhere, can we have another one?"

At the same time, it acknowledges that it's a game and people will do stuff like that (intentionally or just inadvertantly). And those few people shouldn't completely ruin it for others.

Also .. these are just mapping guidelines and I hope that they communicate the intent of making level design a more "realistic" experience for the player, but leave mappers the freedom to achieve this objective in their own way.

I'd actualy like to retrofit our guidelines to the Vanilla BF2 maps, I think they would improve significantly with some changes along the lines we're discussing here.

I think this is a must for the next release. We have some fab looking maps given to us by DICE, with great varied terrain, textures etc, its just the design of the maps, the positioning of the flags, and most importantly, how the vehicles are implemented are simply just not workable, on vanilla, and even more so on this mod.

I need to be clear on what field in the tweak bar represents each thing, such as decay timer etc and also the CP settings

If any of you guys could do a quick guide on them, it would be a massive help.

Erm... that's where my capabilities fall short hehe. I'm a total gimp wiht the editor, and do all the work I've done through editing text files.

JAVAMOOSE: Any chance you could assist with a couple annotated screen captures when you get a minute?

note: some of the fields mentioned here might not even be in the editor for all I know... might just be things that can be added through text files, but not within the editor.
