Re: If 3d sights gets standard then...
Think about it this way: will a door shoot you in the face with an assault rifle at close range if you can't put it down fast enough, or will a soldier? Would you rather be able to survive a conflict with that slab of wood covering the doorway, or an armed militant standing in front of you?
Irons for shotguns have been due for a year or so, I believe - isn't it about time we finally saw them in-game?

Are you sure? My first trip to Iraq I carried a Mossberg 500 around with me. I've personally field-tested it and can tell you that IT IS effective! That thing can turn a human body into a rag doll with no problem. I also prefer to use breaching charges and a good ol' kick to breach a door.NickO wrote:Its not supposed to be used against infantry. Hey dragosh, where in Croatia do you live? When I was in high school I used to visit Dubrovnik and sometimes Zagreb on a yearly basis.General Dragosh wrote:May the reality be with u !![]()

Very nice, it's become a really nice city. Except for the airport, I feel like I'm in a warehouse filled with high-tech equipment. I love Croatia, I'm tempted to retire there.General Dragosh wrote:I live in zagreb![]()

Defibs? Seriously?HughJass wrote:I think there should be 3d iron sights for defibs. I mean come on, its so hard to revive em sometimes.
We knifers need it for civi huntin'!
Maybe instead of a constant crosshair or sights for the defib, make the little cross icon appear after right clicking, much like the zip line in SF. Then it'd disappear shortly after. In our brain, we're marking the spot we'd hit.

For the sake of realism it would be good for PR to introduce the zoom option to use the 3D iron sights. To not include it would be akin to asking a hunter shooting fowl to not use the sight and instead shoot with the gun at chest level and with his head up. That's just not realistic especially since shotguns have slugs now and not buckshot.
Please introduce shotgun 3D iron sights when utilizing Right Click Zoom aiming.

Taking you at your word I do believe any argument that shotguns are used for only door breaching is mute. Real world experience demonstrated.GavenJenno wrote:Are you sure? Oh and that AA-12 is ridiculous! I would love to fire that.

It would own, but I like it a lot when I sneak up one someone, let them look at me, and then pop the slug into their heads, and then the ground.=D

Not just my word, if you read the book House to House by David Bellavia there's a specific scene in there where he actually kills a guy with the Mossberg. The guy also uses it a great deal in combat.kilroy0097 wrote:Taking you at your word I do believe any argument that shotguns are used for only door breaching is mute. The team know that shotguns are used for CQB and not just door breaching. So what? Tomahawks are used in combat, doesn't mean they're going to appear in game either

Point taken, but what about machetes for the Insurgents? I don't see them carrying light knives like conventional forces, and that'd give them something unique.[R-MOD]Masaq wrote:The team know that shotguns are used for CQB and not just door breaching. If the answer is model it, animate it and code it, heck, it'll be a while before I get something out.

Please tell me you guys know I meant the TLAM/BGM-109 and you were simply being ironic?

Actually, according to [R-DEV]Gaz, it can. And he does, you know, use it for a living.Hotrod525 wrote:Javelin AT Missile cannot lock on infantry...
The key to modernising any weapon is covering them in glue and tossing them in a barrel of M1913 rails until they look "Modern" enough.
