I would be trying to get in a tank even without the score tab. Simply because I like it ;)

why does everyone say everything is hardcoded? you would just make everything worth 0 points, or make the update delay sooo long you just dont see they update before the game ends.

Score keeping is fine, but the negative points for dying in aircraft isn't fair at all. It may point out the noob pilots, but it also points out the master pilots who are just plain unlucky and take one too many .50 rounds on the way back to the Pigfarm, as well as the poor SL who herds his squad into a Huey only to see it crash into a mountain somewhere.

So what I am suggesting may be exetreme, but I think that we should totally get rid of the score board. I know that a good amount of people might disagree with me, but here are some reasons why we should get rid of it. For one, it will make going of by yourself to get kills obsolete. Also, it will promote teamwork, which this mod is all about. So, before you just pass up this up, think hard about it and remember what this mod was made for.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

I was having a discussion with a few clan mates, well here it is;

How about remove the score until the end of the round, so that those us that like looking at our 3peens can still have the knowledge of knowing we did the best, and those of use who don't want a score get that as well.

Win win for all.

I'd argue with that, but it was in such a final tone.... :wink

Just kiddin mate.

I agree with Eddie, but it seems the obvious solution that it must have been suggested before. Perhaps we could just increase the reveal score time to 1000hrs, so that no matter what you wont see a score change until the end (would have to include all scores in the same way we count kills)

I vote for keeping the scoreboard if only because I don't really see a reason for removing it. I don't mind knowing where I stand among the other players in the server, knowing who sucks hard and who doesn't. =D

So we're good at tanking, what's your point? Recognition is just a bonus.

If people are whoring tanks and getting that high on the scoreboard, it's a pretty good chance they're nudging their team towards victory. If a high score is enough motivation for them to do so, I don't see a problem.

I don't see how this will "promote teamwork". With no reward for doing well, there is no real punishment for doing obscenely poorly either, which is a big drive for a lot of (Not all) people.

I basically agree with Kinote. Scoring lets you and other sknow how your team is doing, what its strengths are and what its weaknesses are. See a tank squad doing a shit job? Dont rely on it for anything.

Its not hardcoded Soucy, why would you even think that? If we can delay the score like we have now, we could simply delay it for a billion minutes or whatever.

That being said, this is still a game and it is still played for a certain level of recreation/fun. It wont stop lone wolves and it wont stop those wanting kills. Hell, if I didnt know my score I would still feel great being a leet spec ops all alone and getting a ton of kills... I dont need the score to tell me that...

The scoreboard is a way of telling how your team is doing, how a squad is doing, when you see squad one with a negative score you as a commander know NOT to rely on them for anything :P There are many similar examples to why scoring should stay, imho. Although I see where you are coming from, I dont believe theres any evidence or support for it solving any problems.

And as for tanking... well, tanks are tanks, they are relatively safe, can get a lot of kills and are a unique asset to a team... of course people will want to take them... Just the same reason why people want to take the marksman or sniper kit, or the AR kit... its not so much about getting leet kills[well, ok it is] but its also about having a gun you would simply prefer to have...

Dont know if I said anything anyone hasnt said yet, but yeah... I think scoring needs to stay.
