Its perfectly normal for people to make VOIP squads, "engvoip", "gervoip", "infantryVO" etc etc...

but why the heck do people join such squads if they either:
1)Do not have a mic
2)Don't speak the god damn language of the damned squadname?!

Either the 'grey cells' arent doing their damned job in some people's heads, or they simply do not give a damn.

Having to use the squad kick function more regularly because of this,

rant over, :)

The one round I've played with you, Rudd, was chaos before you joined. I forget what my squad was called, prob'ly "ENGvoip". I had to kick a few for not responding on mic'.

There was a pair of chaps with the same tag in their names, happily chatting to eachother in their native language. I asked them to repeat themselves in English but had no response.

One problem is the language barrier. Maybe not all people understand what ENG VOIP means. Although, most do.

tbh i like if i have 1 or 2 guys in my voip squad without voip(as long as they respond with text) shows they want to be in a voip environment and im ok with that, can u image a squad full of "no voip" people ?? fail

Never had a SM not speaking english in my ENG VOIP squad, more annoying is though that if you are commander, people speak to you in a different language then english. But if they SM can't be bothered to speak english then it mostly ends up with a sq kick. :P

HEY! I like VOIP squads even though my VOIP wont work (crappy VISTA made sure of that), and seeing as its not my fault I dont see why i should be punished by being unable to join a good, effective VOIP squad.

Many times i've joined a VOIP squad and they really dont have a care if i cant use VOIP, and the squad still works very effciently and i can get their orders and when needed they can read my chat.

However the whole "Doesnt speak the language" thing i agree with you on. Personally i didnt know Mexico or Germany had versions of BF2 but eh! @_@

I don't mind people withoud a mic at all, just aslong as they dont go out in their own little world sniping, i'm fine with it and if I can comfirm they're not dead robots but respond via chat. Hate to be stuck with a bunch of mindless brain gnawing zombies bunny hopping behind you eagerly waiting for your next task. :/

I don't have a working setup, shame because of the cool dual microphone built-in the laptop, but I can still hear others. Some leaders don't want 5 chatterboxes going at the same time, so a few non-mics balance it out. ;)

try always running it in admin mode, ok it's a little annoying having to click the permissions button, but VOIP works fine on my laptop (Acer 5920) with built in mics and also with jack plugged ones

My VOIP doesn't work. There are servers out there that say in there rules no 1 man squads and if your only choice is join a voip squad you have to do it. I get kicked from squads all the time for no VOIP wish i didn't there the most popular squads and they usually have rallypoints. Just cause some of us have no VOIP or mics doesn't mean were bad players I focus on teamwork that's the whole reason I like PR is the teamwork. I will look back at the squads that kick me and see there scores and usually they have no teamwork. I always stick with my squad and follow all the squad leaders orders regardless if i think it's a stupid order or not. Maybe that's my old military training kicking in but if we can't talk it doesn't mean were bad players.

I have been playing this mod since it was a mini-mod and the old gloryhoundz days when maybe there was only about a couple hundred players playing this mod there really wasn't a VOIP grip until recently. I kinda miss the old days you could be on a server and reconize all the players names and you knew who to stick with now congrats to the devs for a good job but the new guys to the mod seem to ruin it.
