Re: Some ideas for deployables
I wouldn't mind this honestly
Though it would have to be like the firebase, the landing spot, larger and with a flat top, would take like 2 squads to really set up quickly

Re: Some ideas for deployables
^Which one, or both? I know the field tent has, but the landing zone type structure...A raised, flat wooden platform with "H" marked on it -would function as an auto repair point for helicopters (just like a helipad) and could only be built close to bunkers/firebases? Or am I repeating what's been said before.
Field tent = bad idea though. Someone spawns as medic, drops a tent and then grabs a limited kit. Squad gets free healing and there is even less reason for the medic. And attacking it would be a nightmare...(remember attacking "ambulance" vehicles in vBf2?)

It'd be nice to have more assets in general. Namely in the weapons department... Those anti-tank guns (Seen in fools road) would even be lovely...
Although, I do approve of the heli-pad thing. You'd have to beable to mark it on the map, though.

^Manually marking it with an LZ marker would be the easiest and most appropriate. Right now AA (stationary) fires without a lock (which I don't think is correct) and so acts as a good enough TOW launcher -and that's a little overkill. Maybe if you could deploy them with bunkers...yes. Firebases...no.

Love the idea on the landing spot, Can not tell you how often you will clip the skid on the side of a hill and nose over. If you could get a landing pad on the side of a hill, that would be awesome.

And therein might be the reason why it doesn't happen. It doesn't even make structural sense to build a field LZ on a hill. It wouldn't be structurally sound for a transport helo either, not whatever a squad of grunts could manage.maverick551 wrote:If you could get a landing pad on the side of a hill, that would be awesome.

on that basis, surely the field tent without the medic is just a tent? wouldnt it be easier to find a medic?

I see nothing wrong with having this option anyways

Re: Some ideas for deployables
i would agree to the tent and the landing zone, but i would limit them to be only deployed where there is a bunker a command post, or a flag, same restrictions on how and when u can build bunkers (so you would need a crate or two). That would be very feasible.

I see lots of exploits and... funny situations with the landing zone thingie. Most of the time half of it will be in the air, used as bridge, whatever.

the LZ would just be somthing that you roll out either plastic or metal.

Neither of these placables would be useful.
A landing pad would likely cause the chopper to slide around manically.
I dont know about you, but i wouldnt see much sense in building a whole heli-pad, in the radius of something as insignificant as a simple sandbag bunker/firebase.
Its like giving a tiny village its own subway system.
A field hospital?...Surely rearming and using field dressings at a BNK/FB is enough?
I think we are straying into the realms of C&C here.
On further notice, these two specific, and other similar commander assets have been suggested for implementation.
Thread locked for resuggestion.
