Site ~ Media Gallery

Post by Rhino »

I personly think that the Media Gallery you have at the moment isnt really the best it could be.

At the moment, it just has alot of Icons and then a new popup window shoing you a slightly bigger pic.

What i think would be much better if is these pics lead to a new page with a bigger render image, then ingame screenshots (if any) and then info about the tank, plane or what ever it is and then maby some extra info about how its going to be used ingame ect.

If you look at the POE site it has somthing simmular to what im suggesting.

Im going to use the EF2000 for a exsample:

just a nice little suggestion which would make your mod look better and get more ppl invoved in the mod ;-)

I think this is a great idea. It would probably mean a lot of work, but it's probably doable. I say yes!

Im going to say this again, you guys should REALLY update this page. Make it more userfriendly and infomative about each thing u have crated and changed. your new SPR skin aint even on there, with the sig ect. The images are all small and hardly show the detail that you guys are working too.

Most ppl who decied if they want to play this mod or not first look there. If all they see is afew small images, not telling them if its in the mod at the mo or going to come out in a later version. It dosent show any ingame screenshots, it shows no info about range, rate of fire and genral firepower of each weapon.

You guys can really make much, much more of this page and you really let down the mod by it.

Also it might be an idea to add a maps page to it aswell to show all the maps in your mod 8)

Hmm, I suppose you actually do have a point there, we have just been focusing heavily on the mod rather than the page, but I agree with what you say in the way they compliment each other. It may not be done in the near future, but soon it will be yes.

heck, the POE site just puts a link to the image itself on the displayed one - it would be much better to display it in the current site layout, would look much better

have your web-dev guy check out dynamicdrive.com, has lots of great scripts, maybe he (she, whichever) could find one to show off your images and stuff in an above average way - oh ya, and pretty much ALL the scripts are free...

Operation Peacekeeper Mod Update is a nice site for a mod and very nice presentation of each and every vehical or weapon, they also have screenshots and wallpapers that look verry nice (althogh they havent put the BF2 version fully on). Have a look; http://www.opk-mod.de/

There Hind E is quite nice too; http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/newhindopenland1.jpg, http://www.totalbf2.com/images.php?img=news/images/newhindopenland4.jpg.

They also have a story to there mod, mabey PR could have one too about why the British were dragged into the war?

"Because it is in our economic interests"

or

"the mate of tony's mate, who works for Barclays, said so"

8)

I think the best reason is there simply isn't enough games with modern day British forces in them.

updating your site with a feature side and an updated version of the media gallery wont take longer then a day or two max if you push out the stuff to the webb guy.. (stuff = pictures and content)

I am thinking along the lines of real politics, if someone with a real good imagination comes up with an interesting story it might be picked up for the mod (if the PR crew like it).

Think of it as somethink to bath your brain in, for interest reason's. Is there a PR Clancy around here?
