immaturity - micspam on the rise

Post by PRC_Heavy_Z »

It seems recently more and more people are Mic spamming or trying to piss everyone off. It is extremely annoying and it also hinders the teamwork and coordination because you can't hear anything but noise.

What's worse is sometime you can't tell who is spamming. In vBF2, the name pops up when you spam with pageup/pagedown button. However, since this is removed in PR it is impossible to tell.

I ran into this on YouTube:

WARNING there are profanity and racist comments in the videos.

YouTube - MICSPAMMING ON BF2

YouTube - A NUTSACK'S DIARY OF BATTLEFIELD 2

This sadistic little child's in game nick is rifkoopter I'd highly recommend banning this punk from your server if he ever logs on.

I really can't understand this guy or anyone like him, why the hell do they find such immaturity so hilarious and take pride in such actions? Most of all, why would anyone spend all that time and effort to piss anonymous people off? Guess this guy's life must generally suck or be completely devoid of meaning

If you find any videos that shows degenerates such as this brat in action with their in-game nick, feel free to post it here.

rifk appears to be a stupid way of saying rofl and is commonly used amongst 'harassment communities' and players intent on ruining everyone's day. They call themselves 'ragers' i.e. douchebags. AFAIK, server admins are trying to fight back by banning members of these communities. But it is getting more popular I think.

Racism also seems to be part of their MO. Its a scary phenomena, only skillful and vigilant admining will win the day.

Sad to hear there are actually communities of these fools, it's quite moronic how they actually form communities and post their products. Especially considering how easier it is to ban these brats. It seems these numb-skulled punks' actions in video games reflect their everyday decisions... truly sad.

It indeed sad, I think we need a sticky with advice on how to deal with these guys. I recommend not debating with them, do not give them any quarter. Just get them out of your server. Arguing with them or getting frustrated IS WHAT THEY WANT!

!reporting blah blah, get an admin on the case ASAP, the faster they are banned, the faster you can get back to some good solid gaming.

Again, don't argue with them, you will find your angry voice on youtube within the hour with these buggers having a laugh at your expense.

With the advent of such a group I am far more attracted to passworded teamwork nights.

What would stop them from simply looking up every password for every passworded teamwork server and raging anyway?

1) password nights generally attract players interested in a serious gaming night, i.e. 'ragers' will be identified and admins will be informed quickly.

2) the probability of getting a rager is slightly less, not impossible, their forum account and its associated e-mail address will also then be available for investigation if they are caught. If they made a false account just to get the password, well then at least we wasted five minutes of their time.

3) Admins are sure to be on, ragers tend to get away with things on late night servers when the admins are asleep.

Yes, password nights are generally succesfull on TG. However, we do get the usual smack tards that are taken care of by the admins...

If you register to the mygot forums you can see all the **** they talk about, they currently have a thread about ruining project reality, heres a little quote by a guy called 'BumBullets'

'Introducing me (hi, this is me) and my crusade to ruin the project reality mod:

YouTube - Project Reality Mod Must DIE!!!

YouTube - A Fun Day in CSS and Project Reality

I lost the footage where I took this kid on a motorbike up to a big empty field in the map and drove around in circles for 15 minutes. He almost cried.

He is leopulse, a known Mygot. He has been IP banned on most servers but I think it looks like he got a new IP account or something. And if you have problems with players please post them in the PR Server Administration - Project Reality Forums

Actually, you can. If you open up the squad screen, the mic icon to the right of the squadmember's name will be yellow if they are transmitting. Clicking the speaker will put an X through it and mute them.

You can either kick them from your squad, report them to admin or simply ignore them and leave them muted.

Commanders have the same on the command screen with the icons next to the squad numbers.

I beat Rhino to a post! *proud*

Play a game when I'm commanding; you'll hear nothing but English, and bitching at non-english speaking SL's :D

One of the many annoying things when you're a commander; SL's who start shouting at you in some dago language and expecting you to understand. Everyone should speak English :D

Thankfully we have per-player mute option, HUD-messages for teamkills and punkbuster global ban list.

Just mute them and don't give them any attention. The good servers will have admins on most of the time, maybe they should turn into "strict" mode. :)
