Reinforcements
Basically my idea is for commander to get a new vehicle drop option. After some sort of prelimitary requirement, the commander would get an option to drop vehicles as reinforcements. Also it would be made so that the reinforcements could only be dropped on a mainbase. Like in bf2 were you couldnt drop vehicles on buildings, have the whole map like that accept for main bases.
It would also be cool, if the map started with little to no vehicles, then when flags are captured, the commander gets option to drop in reinforcements. This would promote people capturing flags. Right now the bleed isnt initiated until almost all flags are captured, thus theres no reason to go after them.
Well thats basically my idea, I just think it would add alot more to the commander role, deciding when to put different elements into battle would add alot more strategy. Im not sure if its hard-coded or not, but its just a suggestion. Sorry if my idea doesnt make sense also, if you need further explanation, just ask. Comments and criticism welcome.

Re: Reinforcements
They did have a vehicle drop function back in .6 (i think), but only for light transport vehicles. I remember on kashan once, our squad was stranded in the middle of the desert after a blackhawk pilot was shot out and the flaming black hawk hit the ground slowly and we just had enough time to bail out and run away. We re-grouped, and the next black hawk was to spawn in a few minutes, but are squad was well to afraid to get back in with the furious enemy AA support. our squad leader called in a vehicle drop from the commander, it took around 5 minutes for it to reach the ground, and it was blown up by an AAV keeping watch on the skys. Our squad walked. It was very unpleasant.

I like the idea of vehicle drops, I think I missed it last time. I do worry, however, that commanders would use it to trap or squash enemies. Remember that vehicles are team specific.
Maybe Engi's should be able to hijack light vehicles, or the commander can only drop at a laser target?

Yeah I wouldnt mind. Definitely need limitations, but perhaps like an airdropped light APC or jeep every 30-odd minutes, available at each base you own except the one currently in AAS order (IE if PLA had the Mine captured on Qwai, it could have a vehicle airdropped at Government Offices, Fishing Village, Temple, Estate or their Main)

Ya viper thats a good idea of how to do it. I like it. And If you have a car paradropping out of sky ever in PR and i see it I will leave. It is so unreal its not even funny.

Re: Reinforcements
Just wondering how often do vehicle drops happen in real conflicts ? If they are rare I don't see the point of having this "back" into PR.
As they may be cool, but Star destroyers are too

Well the US does some low drop offs like pushing a car out back of a slow moving plane but its rare. Most are just hook to a heavy lift heli and flown. But since its hardcoded this is the closest it can get.

Actually Soucy, it's perfectly realistic.

I know they use them but very very rare. and if there that rare theres no point in wasting the mb's on it.

Re: Reinforcements
We can use the supply drop system as a way (slightly unrealistic or not) to let Squad Leaders with a squad of 4 or more request IFVs (HMMWV, Nanjing, Vodnik) for their squads once per 30 minutes. Something like this could allow us to return IFVs to their proper numbers on the battlefield without allowing as many noobs to drive them to oblivion.
Of course, Squad Leaders themselves would be able to go off and get his IFV destroyed by an APC somewhere, but they're more controllable than the generic pubber.

Re: Reinforcements
I was only suggesting them be able to be dropped at main bases, and although its not realistic(like almost everything in pr)it was the only way i could think of, of getting reinforcements as it is now with bf2 engine.

Re: Reinforcements
I thought that was implied - with that condition, do you think my idea is practical?
