Replace timed spawns for Vehicles with Commander Controlled Vehicle Spawns

Hi Guys.

Over in the Tourny Forums, someone asked this question:
Just how "real" is the fact that a particular faction knows when, where, and how many of enemy tanks will "spawn" out of thin air, just so a bomb can be laid in a second after?
Suggestion for 0.8:

The Commander receives another option, very similar to the JDAM with a availability bar in the Commander Screen which will be to "Air-Drop" Heavy Assets near a bunker (only Bunkers, not Firebases).

Maybe make it with various options. He could request for spawning:
  • Tank platoon (two MBT)
  • Mechanized Infantry (two APC)
  • Armored Recon (2 IFV)
  • Mobile AA (2 AAA)
The process when these assets become available needs to be tweaked, of course, according to whats possible in-game. E.g., having an assets counter and spawning assets substracts different point-values since a MBT is worth more than an AAA.
Also, the regeneration rate of the counter maybe depending on number of Flags and/or Bunkers and Firebases (More = better control of terrain = better supply situation).

So, whaddaya think?

I did not mean that the more flags you have the more assets you get, just that if you have more flags, the Commanders Asset Button fills up quicker (better logistics).

Moving the spawn area would be nice, but I don't think possible. Unless? Wait. Jeeps spawn on Bunkers and Firebase, those are movable spawn points. If it is possible to link the spawn of specific, timed and number-limited assets to another specific asset?

I don't know how the Jeeps spawned at Bunkers/Firebases differ from the ones that spawn at fixed locations, because the Bunker-Jeeps are essentially unlimited, while the fixed spawns are limited (you can only have so many MBTs in-game at a time, those numbers are map specific).

What do you mean by "activated by a similar system to the LZ designation"? LZ's are just markers on the map, they don't have an in-game-effect, do they?
I guess the spawners would need to be placed like bunkers with the Commo Rose.

Hm, a small model would not be bad, maybe a supply crate and some fuel drums. But this spawner should not be destroyable, because they do not represent real assets, just the point where the reinforcements are unloaded. The marker is just so you don't place the MBT-marker too near to the APC-marker and the vehicles explode each other when spawning.

Maybe, the spawners don't spawn the assets automatically? Instead, the Commander or an officer would have to get near them and request a Tank/APC/IFV/MAA platoon. I suppose it is possible to limit the number and frequency of such requests per map, just like limited kits? That way you only need one spawner type, where you can request the assets.

I don't know though if the Commo Rose has still room for that.
