The USMC Interim Fast Attack Vehicle (IFAV) is a modified version of the Mercedes-Benz Geländewagen 290.

Dude, are you retarded or what? Look, the IFAV is the American version of the Mercedes-Benz 290GD, which is only in use by the American military. This mod is about Dutch forces last time I checked, and that means it is a Mercedes-Benz 290GD. I know this must be very hard for you, because they look alike and all, but they are not. Get over yourself.

What's it called in the army? As in, is said "let's take the IFAV" or "let's take the 290" or <your suggestion here>?

And guys, don't provoke or call people retarded. We are civilized people and so we behave like that. If one does not agree with a name or model, he can say he thinks so and why he thinks that. If you disagree with that, say why you disagree or just don't say anything at all if you don't know how to write a mature reply. This is a discussion board, so we can discuss things here.
I don't want to see another provoking post or namecalling in these threads again, for warnings will be handed out for free

Do you have anything intelligent to add to disprove my claims instead of stupid one-liners, which show you don't have a clue what you're talking about but you just want to take a cheap shot at me?black-wolf wrote:lol
It's usually referred to as an "MB". That's irrelevant however, because the vehicles in PR aren't named after their nicknames.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:What's it called in the army? As in, is said "let's take the IFAV" or "let's take the 290" or <your suggestion here>?

Different manufacturer, transmission, engine, armour, stuff like that.'[R-DEV wrote:AfterDune;687562']So what are the exact differences between the two, besides the name?

I see. Is there any difference in the looks of the thing as well?Stratolite wrote:Different manufacturer, transmission, engine, armour, stuff like that.

From a distance, no. The point I was trying to make however, is not that they don't look similar (that's pretty obvious), but that they are two different vehicles and terminology-wise, IFAV is not interchangable with Mercedes-Benz 290 GD.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:I see. If there's no difference in the looks of the vehicle, I don't mind what it's called, as you will never see that in-game.
Though if you want to show it on renders and such, it would be nice to have the actual name with it.
So guys, what's it going to be then?

It's not about the render, that's fine, but what's it going to be called in-game. I don't think people would agree if the HMMWV was called a Hummer in the game. You should go with what's accurate, not what sounds cool or what people agree on because they can't stand being corrected.[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:If there's no difference in the looks of the vehicle, I don't mind what it's called, as you will never see that in-game.

In-game it doesn't matter, as you will -never- see the name of the vehicle.. Even if the HMMWV was called hummer, nobody would notice that in-game?Stratolite wrote:It's not about the render, that's fine, but what's it going to be called in-game. (in the editor you would, just not in-game)
