What are the donations for ?

Post by Howitzer »

Just wondering. Is it only for the website's hosting ? , the DEV's pocket (lol) or its dedicated for future projects i should not be asking about ?

If i have more information , i will be very likely i will drop some spare bills in the pot.

Long live to PR

Nope, it just rolls over. No individual makes a profit/takes home stuff from the petty cash :p

I think they may go towards the new quad core server we are getting for the site which should speed it up a bit :D

I believe the official term is "Morale boosters for the use towards a better final product"

Yeah. It all goes towards upkeep of the website, forums, SVN and test servers, and all the other expenses required to run the mod. (vBulletin licenses, for example).

well they could make a kind of list with the advantages of a donation or what they could do with it.

That would encourage donations ! no ?

Not if people understood what real testing is...

(Says one of the head testers for another game)

Last one I did I got a free copy of the game, but at the end of it I'd done the same thing so, so many times that I had no desire to actually play it :(

I say no, giving donations does not make you special. yes your helping the mod but at the same time you made the choice to donate. They thankyou for it and you know in your mind taht your helping keep the mod alive, keep new stuff coming and give the devs more time to work on teh mod and not work for the money to keep it running. Each release is something that a a person who gives a donation recives as a gift.

supporting them means they have to put less of there own money into running the servers etc so they can spend less time working and more time devolping
oh wait
more money for them to get drunk with and then put off next relase due to many hangovers
