[Question] adding PR weapons to BF2?
can any one tell me how i can add PR weapons to BF2, for example the Binoculars or the GLTD. i know this is posible i just dont have the experiance to do it. if anyone can help me out that would be great.

if this is for just your own SP use then this is fine. If this is for your mod or something and you plan on redistributing these files without our permission then these files are copyrighted and we will take action if you refuse to remove them, much like the OSS mod did when they tried to use our assets, then when we found out and asked they didn't remove them, we took action and there mod is no more.
So ye, if you want it for your own SP use its fine, if you want it for some kinda mod your making, ask permission.

no no this is not for any mod, i dont even know how to make mods lol, its just for SP, i read a few places i have to add the templates or somthing like that but i have no idea what to do. if you can help me plz

i tride adding the tweak files into the client of bf2 and then added the template in the sniper kit with index 7 but that didnt work, im thinking i need the modle or somthing?

Why not download PRSP, a lot of maps are available, more than MP!!!!

already did, but its still not what i want, i just want to add a few items to BF2 so i can play some SP with those items for example Binoculars or the GLTD i think is what you call it.
Rhino, you im still new to this website and you look like one of the bosses, and one of the poeple that would know how to help me, im not trying to make any mods or anything, just want to add a couple of weapons to my SP games.

basically what you need to do is extract them from PR then put them into your SP mod, kinda complicated so ye, not going to explain it all now but the info on how to do it is out there.

hmm that might work, but thats basicly a skin i think, the GLTD has diffarent functions, if im gona add that or the binoculars im gona need it to only zoom and look, or zoom tag or somthing like that.3===SPECTER===3 wrote:check here... its almost the same with weapons

Rhino extract them from? there are 2 to 3 weapons folders one in the client one in the server and one in the bf2 mod, also there are 2 in the PR mod, so your saying extract the ones in PR mod into the ones in BF2mod? because i was looking at the ones in PR which are rar'd btw just stating in it incase it shouldnt be or somthing and its not as spacific as the ones in BF2 for example in ones in BF2 i see them having AI, con, tweaks and other things, but the ones in PR only have tweaks, and in server one has even less weapons that the client. is that how its supposed to be? or is mined missing files?

also when ever i try and make a change in the tweak or somthing it tells me that it cant fined the destination, is it because it is rar'd? do i have to extract it then work with it?

ok np but can you tell me what els do i have to do? this is what i did, i enterd the PR mod folder and opend the Object_client and took the Simrad which i think is the GLTD and put it in the bf2 OBject_client handheld, then i went to the kits in bf2 chose US and opend the sniper.con and added a template with all the other weapons in his kit and added the weapon name, and i made sure that the itemindex was not in use but i still cant see the item in the game, with the US sniper.

ok this is what i did.
SIMRAD did not exist in the Obejct_client in PR mod, only in the Object_server so i took it from the server and added it to both the client and server of BF2, added it to the sniper kit, and made sure that the itemindex was not in use. i opend the game tride making a single player game and at the end of the loading it said. BF2.exe has stoped working blablabla. now i read in other places that i have to run it in window mod or somthing not sure what they ment and there it will tell you what files are missing and add them one by one as you enter the game.

Make a copy of your bf2 icon.
Rename it 'BF2 Windowed' or something silimar.
Now, right click on it, go to the 'shortcut' tab.
Where it says 'Target', change the part of the line that says:
+fullscreen 1
To:
+fullscreen 0
Then start it using that shortcut. When the game crashes, a window should pop up telling you what file is missing.

What is your level of proficiency and experience with working with BF2 files? If you are an absolute beginner then this is probably the wrong place to ask. You will need to register with technical modding forums and start from the ground up.

i am a beginner, can you give me a link to those forums, or just tell me were i can fined these files, which might be easyer for me. i understand these kind of things fast.
