Re: UAV
ehhh ye, why do you think vbf2 had UAVs? They are realistic, just the way they where done in vbf2 was very unrealistic ie, it has a little radar that pics up 100% everything even if there is a guy sitting 20ft beneath the grounds surface in a bunker... And ye, what is the reason for the chinese and mec not to have any?
Chinese Defence Today - Harpy Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)
ASN-206 UAV - Chinese Intelligence Systems
Chinese UAV/UCAV, page 1
They aint excatly that hard to build, its a plane thats RC with a huge camera on the bottom?
With the player numbers in BF2 etc there is no real good way we can have UAVs in PR apart from maybe giving it to the commander only but there would be big hard coded problems with doing that anyways.

The old commander view could do alright as an UAV.[R-DEV]Rhino wrote: With the player numbers in BF2 etc there is no real good way we can have UAVs in PR apart from maybe giving it to the commander only but there would be big hard coded problems with doing that anyways.

Re: UAV
linking that to the uav maybe. Instead of the radar. Or making it like a commander asset you can only look at one area you choose and it has a limited time you can watch.

Re: UAV
Why not have a UAV Tender kit, the UAV is a "weapon" that can't be reloaded from an ammo bag and is launched and controlled like a TV missile. Give it an infrared view mode and a "Look Down" mode that the FH2 scout plane has and I think it would work pretty well. Infantry can already carry UAVs in the field, and integrating it at the squad level could be very useful.
UAV Tender Kit:
Knife
Entrenching Tool
Assault Rifle with Iron Sights (3+1 magazines)
UAV
Smoke Grenade x 1
Binoculars
Field Dressing x 1

Not just some RC plane.
MUAVs are ikkle.

Same limit as a HAT. Would allow the user to relay info to his squad, but would be totally defenceless.
I first suggested this sort of thing (from my searches was the first mUAV sugg) a while ago, but the MODs just saw the letters UAV and locked it as DUP. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f18-pr ... -muav.html

Re: UAV
Because then we'll have commanders playing with a toy plane instead of commanding. Integration at the squad level seems more useful, especially on insurgency maps where a squad could set up in an area and launch the MUAV to either warn them if the enemy came their way or to help find the cache. Of course it would have limited endurance and the operator would be utterly defenceless to balance out it's obvious eye in the sky advantages. While I'm a little hesitant to agree that it have the same number limitations of the HAT kit, it may be for the best, although I would prefer to see it available to all squads.HughJass wrote:not a uav kit, that is bogus. give it to the commander with a commander kit or something.

Re: UAV
such small UAVs would defnatly be ways better than the old ones.
I'm not really sure how should get such a drone, on small maps it could be really great for the commander, but on huge map, it would be more usefull in the hands of a scout, so that you might use it as spotter kit in a sniperteam.
do such small UAVs actually have also lasermarkers ? would be cool if you could call for CAS with them
