US weapons on certain caches?
I have seen lots of videos of insurgents gathering up US weapons they stole after an IED attack or what not, so i was just thinking if there can be certain caches that have a US or Brit weapon on it instead of an rpk or whatever. Lets say one out of the three caches that exist would contain a US/Brit weapon, or just once in a while. Discuss...

im sorry worded wrong. They would IED a vehicle, and then rob it since everybody in it was dead. Then the video showed a stash of us weapons they gathered for themselves. Usually included m4's m16, mags, at4s, nades, knifes, i think they also got a sniper kit once, in anycase, they get their guns and stash em and use em against the US.

I think this would add a nice mix to the weapons on the caches and throw off the conventional forces a little bit. Also it sounds realistic and you could just have one for every three caches like you said so not everyone would have access to them.

I think killing brits and nicking there kits is a better option tbh.

Re: US weapons on certain caches?
yeah, true, although many stick to their insurgent kits anyway for the motolvs, i usually just steal his patch or throw it on the ground if im gonna stay in the area and need a quick fix up, and i take my old kit back, STRATEGY ppl! lol, But in all seriousness its not so that the insurgents can get their hands on those kits as much as it is more confusing to the enemy. I always distinguish between the gun sounds but i still make sure just in case an enemy picks up one of our guns.
Furthermore i would support this since although the AKs are the primary weapon in use by the insurgents it does happen that they use a US gun here and there, just more realistic i suppose, plus it gives more incentive to be an insurgent, and it makes the insurgents want to guard the hell out of that particular cache. U have no idea how many times i see unguarded caches... it makes me sad.

Sorry, I didn't mean it to sound like a question.Raniak wrote:Steal them on IED attacks ?![]()
I mean, instead of picking them from a magical weapons cache, make your own IED attack and steal them there !

Im in Australia and the nearest playable insurgency map is the 24 hour insurgency server...
200+ ping... and random players from all around...
Anyways... something has to be done about tards not guarding the chaches, its quite annoying for both teams really. Heres my point of view from both sides...
Brits- "So your telling me we proned all that way to get behind the guys DEFENDING this chache... and no body is here? , Atleast some action is looked forward to... it is still a game.
Insurgs- "Squad one... why are all your members scattered across the map? Oh great now the chache is down.."

Wouldn't the weapons and equipment be destroyed too?

Re: US weapons on certain caches?
Not necessarily. In one video they RPG'd a humvee killing the guys inside. Its either that or some got killed and they went up and killed the rest, the camera cut off untill they went up to the HMVee and just started to rapage through the stuff inside. Later they showed the weapons, like one or two showed light charr damage, but nothing that would render it unusable. Since the blast is mostly absorbed by the HMVE its not so much the RPG blast itself that killed the troops but the shrapnel really i think, if im wrong im sorry, so in that logic the guns would be allright.
Also if the guns would be spawned at the Caches the equipment could be something like
knife
m16+acog (or not... but preferrably yes) Or the Brits rifle on Albrashar
binos (very optional but very helpful)
patch
As well to limit this even more, you could make this weapon load out spawn at the cache at every 4th new cache.
just a though... Im really looking for the response of the DEVs on this.
Oh and Raniak... "U cheeky *******!"
lol, jkjk, sry i didnt understand that at first, but since when do IEDs work for infantry? Its not like theres ever a set patrol.... just vehicles...
Im going on battlearena right now and im gonna make an IED only squad and just set up explosives everywhere as im singing the Polish national anthem!

I don't think this is necessary. How the system works now is perfect IMO. You kill a guy, the kit is a "reward" I guess you could say. Making them already in your possession is not as interesting or reward based.

Re: US weapons on certain caches?
It's of no importance to start placing Coalition weapons on enemy cahces..That'd give them an even bigger advantage, and would be personally un-realistic...
BTW:Most of the time,if an IED attack happens on coalition personnel, there are reinforcements,or evac's there, before ins. can start flooding in for scraps...

Yeah, why do it for the player when they can already do it themselves??[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:I think killing brits and nicking there kits is a better option tbh.

Re: US weapons on certain caches?
ui, whoever said that reinforcements come, well im talkign about one HMVe patrol on a road, and gets RPGd, who is there to call in reinforcements right away, the insurgents moved in RIGHT away after the attacks, reinforcements if they ever came came way later, maybe response time was about 20 min or more, MORE than enough time to rob guns.
I just played a game with SpeedQuest on battlarena and i was personally responsible for destroying a challenger, 2 scimitars, and a bunker twice, plus everybody from our squad got an engineering kit from the bunkers destruction. Im saying that the incentives for guarding the caches that have a gun like that is huge. I would most certainly not want to lose a cache like that.

But you just got all your brit kits from stuff you destroyed....see? Insurgents dont magically have BLUFOR weaponry, they acquire it...just like you must.ralfidude wrote:ui, whoever said that reinforcements come, well im talkign about one HMVe patrol on a road, and gets RPGd, who is there to call in reinforcements right away, the insurgents moved in RIGHT away after the attacks, reinforcements if they ever came came way later, maybe response time was about 20 min or more, MORE than enough time to rob guns.

Re: US weapons on certain caches?
hmm mabye some older weapons like vanilla M16A2 or something. I saw when i was looking up terrorists some were holding AR related weapons. It would be nice having AR weapon some sort.
