REAL Spec. For Aircraft
eg. The Apache, in BF2 it is terrible compared to real life, the missle count and armour, not to mension the fire rate are all out, this is how it should be:
AH-64D [Apache]
Length: 17.73m
Height: 4.05m
Wingspan: 5.2m
Vertical rate of climb: 1775ft/min
Max rate of climb: 2635ft/min
Top speed: 182 mph
Armourment:
1 M230 30mm chaingun with 1200 rounds;
76 70mm rockets;
4 (or more under wings) Air-to-air missiles;
16 Laser Hellfire Missles;
16 RF Hellfire Missles;
See what I mean? You don't even get 76 rockets to start with! Let alone the rest... Will Project Reality provide us with the Apache we all know and love?

The AH64 can't carry all that stuff at once. It can always carry the M230 and ammo obviously, and it can always carry 4 Stinger missiles in pods of 2 on each wingtip. But as for the rest it's the 76 rockets OR the 16 Laser Hellfires OR the 16 radar Hellfires. A typical load is 8 Hellfires and 38 70mm rockets. Laser Hellfires are most commonly used, the radar system is usually not installed, even in D models that are capable of carrying it.Sir. Mavrik347 wrote:eg. The D models have a different type of Hellfire that work in correspondence with their radar.

Um... I vote for realism before game balance, but then I'm more like viewing PR as a combat simulation (or at least a ambitious combat simulation wannabe
).
Let the attack choppers have realistic specs. Let us infantry men sh*t our pants by fear simply by just setting down our foot on a map where we know the enemy do have those attack choppers.
"To HELL with game balance, a battlefield is supposed to be dangerous.... Hey, wait...OMG! It is THAT map! Er.. Merkwundigliebe, Barakath and Smith... you guys DID bring those AA missiles with you, didn't you?"
(Intense pain and mayhem follows shortly after that conversation and to be honest, what more can we ask for?!)
/IllvilJa, yours truly in morbidity
PS. Yes, the battlefield should be a VERY, very dangerous place for us infantrymen

DID you no that the JFS, CAN NOT TAKE OFF VERTICILY. There are 3 versions
2 - normal long take off and landing
1 - short take off and verticle landing
I completely understand why it is not VTOL but when it come to the coolness scale, i am sorry it is pretty low down when compare to the HArrier. I my eyes it is trying to be like the Harrier but fails in so manys ways (ignoring the fact it is generally better,faster and more powerfull - that is irelivent). Aircraft like the Rator and Tornadoe are far cooler becuase they dont try to be something they are not.
THe second half of waht i have said is completely opnioin so dont try and argue against it with hard "cool" FACTs.
SO face the "FACTS" the JSF is so so very uncool, but it does look quite nice. I am also biased by the fact yu yanks made it and are then really really stingy with the software to fly it and then dont let us Brits even make a tiny part. I want to see BRITISH KILLING MACHINES flying off are new fabulous super, duper aircraft carriers!!!!!!
Rule Britannia, Britannia rule the waves,
Britons never never never shall be slaves (excluding the UNITED STATE OF AMERICA)
The nations, not— so blest as thee,
Must, in their turns.............

What I want to see is zoom for the helicopters. It is kind of rediculas that tanks and apcs can see twice as far when the helicopter can not.
If I recall correctly a helicopter gunner can zoom in to see targets in the distance. As of right now helicopters can be used as support very well. Seems to be most usefull treating it more like a plane doing bombing runs, which is not the way helicopters should be used.
