make periscope on tank turn.
Hey guyz, is it possible to make the periscope itself turn like the camera on attack helicopter, i know its not a question of life or death but it will add a fine touch of realism, if you can also drop the camera for make it saw from the objective not over it...

Re: make periscope on tank turn.
i think this deserves a disgussion of its own imo. because there are a few things about the tank's vision that should be brought up. Its a good suggestion, but its down to the ability to link the movement of the driver's vision and the "Object-vehicle-tank-periscope" rotation. i haven't a clue how it can be done but i agree, it would add a cool effect from anyone observing from outside, and would let people recognise that the gunner is actually sentient
Another thing i could bring up while on the subject is the genner's view site. which should be in relation to the periscope's location on the very top/front-left of the gun. But i believe the vision is down to where the head of the driver is (well on helicopters anyways) but i guess this could be ignored in the tank's case as there isnt any visible driver-person. but the problem is when the gun spins, the position of the driver's periscope should too, and i think it can only be bound to the chassie (if you will) and not the main gun, especially when the 0.756 changes include the rotation of the driver's view counter-rotating to compensate for the main gun's movement.

I like the idea, would be pretty cool to see that thing spin around in combat. I am guessing though, that It might take a major overhaul of the tanks to accomplish, which would not be worth the time and effort.

Re: make periscope on tank turn.
not possible since the commander view is on the top of the turret, and the turret is the child of the gunner and not of the driver, hard to exsplain but we did talk about doing this for the CR2 in the early import stages and its simply not possible due to the BF2 engine setup. its the same reason why the commander camera dont stay on the commander view bit and you get a 50cal in the way when the gunner looks backwards.
