Increase the time it takes to overheat

Post by Cerberus »

If I'm using the M249, I wanna be able to suppress my enemy, not fire 50 rounds, overheat, then wait a few seconds while they pop back out and shoot me.

What Eden says.
Only time I fire longer bursts is when a car is getting too close and even then firing in bursts prevents the weapon from overheating.

You should be able to go throught the whole belt though without melting your barrel in real life though right? In an emergency, why should you have to worry about overheating.

You could fire 1000 rounds without changing your barrel. Either way, maybe there could be a way to simulate barrel changes? A saw gunner always carries a spare barrel.
