I miss the F/A-18 as well.

The F-35B was slated to be the GB's Carrier-based multirole fighter. I don't remember any mention of the USMC getting the F-35B though. I think the F-18 will take the multirole fighter job for USMC's Carrier maps.

Ghost reminds us a good point; we don't have a model for an actual aircraft carrier. All we have is the USS Essex (LHD-2), which is technically not an aircraft carrier but a Wasp-class amphibious assault ship which is only capable of carrying the UH-1N Huey, AH-1W Cobra, CH-53 Super Stallion, CH-46Sea Knight, MH-60 Seahawk, and AV-8B Harrier.

LOL,How can you not have heard that the USMC are going to adapt the F35-B as their new multi-role fighter...It's kinda a popular replacement...

"LOL"... perhaps I wasn't being clear enough. I was talking about IN GAME.

In real life, I am fully aware of the JSF program.

And LekyIRL yes they do... :)
I cant say for sure if the vbf2 F18 is the F18A or F18C but non the less its the "hornet" not the super hornet...

When/if a Carrier such as the Nimitz class carrier(US) is made, it should have those Launch rigs for the F-18 if it is possible. Like somebody on the Carrier has the position of rig launcher, and he gets points for it(if the position wouldn't get points for lauching aircraft, then nobody would do it).

Or! If you don't feel llike makking a whole new carrier, then just make it so that the F-18 cannot take off from such a small platform, so to solve this, the F-18 could have a weapons cycle(reloadable only when it ands and sits there for a minute or 2) where, the pilot pushes the jet to full opower and then he fires the "Carrier launch" mode and he is able to take off since he would go fast enough to take off. Once he runs out(1 take off) then the other weapon in the mode(like NAW mod, one cycle= 2 weapons) the secondary fire button virtually stops the aircraft, making it very able to stop on a dime...or a Carrier deck without falling in.
So the cycles would be: cycle 1-cannon,missile
cycle 2-cannon,*laser guided bomb or such*
cycle 3-Carrier launch mode, carrier landing mode
8)
F-18 is now appliable to the current Essex class carrier, without having to make a new carrier or change the F-18 a bunch so that the F-18 goes back to 0.5 where it can take off the Carrier.
