Do you know the maximum distance (even roughly) that these can be deployed from a FB.

I ask because it is an important advantage to keep the location of your FBs unknown to the enemy, therefore hidden from the direct sight...... bla bal bla
I only bothered to read what I quoted as I know you too well TC for just blabaring on for ages about one point and looked at the end of the topic and it looks like im right, please in future keep it short unless there is loads of points to be worth that long :p

Yes we are aware of the issue of these kinda thing giving away FB positions etc, like I said we have not done any rules to these so far we may even make it so they do not require in a radius for them to deployed. Deployment rules will come later thou we will consider everything...
Woolfson wrote:Will it kill prone soldier on deployed position?
All deployables have a small side effect that if anything is in the way of the object being deployed it will "crush" the player, much like a jeep falling on someones head. Just tell your squad to stand clear when you deploy a object and make sure if your the one deploying it you deploy it in a clear area so this dose not happen.
NYgurkha wrote:just a quick question, how far can you swivle the .50cal? is it a full 360 degree thing or just a small 90 degree cone in the front?
Its only a small 90deg or something rotation facing forwards, hence the sandbags being built up on the side so deploying this in a good position will be critical to how useful they are.
NYgurkha wrote:also how accurate will it be? I sure hope its not like the vhiechle mounted .50cals.
Very, not used the 50cals on the jeeps?

No dual wielding would be silly, however just the one is entirely sensible

YouTube - KORD 12,7 mm machine gun(Shooting a machine gun, standing)

It´s going to be like this!!

YouTube - Shooting with 12.7 aa machinegun in Finland, fun :) part 2

Footage taken by me. HAr.

*wish* I think it would be fun if you could just deploy those and other stuff (sandbags and razorwire) everywhere but with truck near of course. It would be very tactic to make ambushes on roads and in top of hillss.

I hope so real life .50 cals are black, not this crapy BF2 gray junk. BTW Nice job on the model!

I hope the MEC, and Chinese get their HMGs as deployables as well next release it will make base defence much less of a chore and more like it is in real life.

Now all we need are Mortors for Engineers to place, and we would be in great shape!

BTW any word on a deployable Grenade Launcher? There are a bunch of nations that use them other then the US. (Mark19 version), then there is the PLAs version, and even Russia has one.

adding this will put whole new strategy into demo teams. the SL will specifically say "Take out the .50 cal FIRST!!!! then worry about the bunker!"

they would be like any other 50cal in PR currently...

they use excatly the same weapon code as the 50cals on the jeeps etc so unless they change, these wont changes. The only difference being they are stationary 50cals.
