I made a Fin round, with the goal being the petals flying off as it leaves the barrel. Very rough but i think i am learning tons now :)

A little toy project I got going over at Offworld.

The Z1A3 Colonial Marine Corps martian issue battle rifle.

Its main armament is its .50 caliber riffeled barrel, with a 20 round mag.
This is intended for accurate medium and long range engagements over the wast martian plains. To support this a scope is standard issue for the marines stationed on mars.

For close quarter engagement it has a 5 round semi automatic shotgun in the handguard.

The weapon is made from light weight polymers, carbons and titanium alloys.
NOTE: This weapon will not be featured in "Offworld: fall of mars" - it is only made for the purpose of fun and practice. The texture seen here is also very WIP (only some of the base colors have been layed out so far).

Realized that the scope was a bit too far from the player.
As you can see the weapon is still missing some of the cocking handle mechanism and the bullets come out the wrong place - but do not fear, I got it under control - or at least I think so :P

interessting thing ;-) i still wonder how you will make it with the tanks, will you now also be able to run around, but without arms ??

Hehe, well ground units are being incorporated, but infantry is still a "no-go", it simply takes too long to do compared to the duration of the project. However, I might do a single firearm for each faction and a reskin of the vbf2 player models so players can play infantry in the very final release.

We already have 3 ground units in game, and I have a hover Tank/AA in the works:

ofcause, to make it look really good, new soldier moddels would be needed and the whole project is not made for something that complex, but still i look forward to the next release.
/or other words, to promote it on bf-news.de ;-)

Hehe, I have seen you comment on it there. Aside from Sofad I'm the only one that can a small amount of german, so I check what the masses write about our little project.

A larger news post may or may not be around the corner...

HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

I showed this tank in a few posts above.. finally unwrapped this one and its now two hours into skinning:

Oh yea, I changed it from hover tank to wheeled tank/apc thingy.

needless to say its still WIP 8) but I like some texture practice besides all this modeling..
