Best Respawn Time Setting?
In constantly refining our server we are interested in what PRMM players think makes for the best overall respawn time (man down time + remaining respawn time). Any feedback and comments would also be appreciated.
I tend to favor the longer respawn times although I know others prefer them shorter. I personally don't like them TOO long but what I think is reasonable may seem like an eternity for some. We are very interested in what everyone else thinks the best overall respawn time is.
Once we get some feedback and a decent amount of responses to the poll here we'll implement the change (if one is required) to our server (ip 63.209.36.23:16567) and see how everything works out.

40secs is good, that or above.
I think there should be a 40sec respawn time, and a 0sec man down time as it only lets the player see if the guy is still camping in the same spot. IU can rember in the last training session after i ran into a claymore, and went itno the man down time mode i saw that sniper running back to lay a brand new 1. I probaly wouldnt have known but would have gessed that he might have layed a new 1 if i didnt see him but it was just confimred by getting a 3rd person view of my dead body....

I like long man down, short respawn.
So 30 seconds man down, 5 seconds respawn: 35 seconds as my choice.
Keep in mind there are some changes coming in 030 that will make respawn times somewhat dynamic based on player actions (not man down times tho).
It's nothing revolutionary, but will affect the topic under discussion.

Black screens are boring maybe a large view of the minimap so you can see sort of what is happening.

I like the ideas of having some kind of black screen or enlarged map while waiting to respawn or be brought back by a medic. Being able to see what's going on while dead is kind of cheesy.
Maybe something like putting the black / blurred border that gives you a limited field of view like when you are seriously injured and also adding the blur affect you get when standing next to a firing tank (with ringing ears as well) might be interesting.

but get rid of the 3rd person in re spawn time, as it just shows you the whole area of where you where killed and you might just see a guy who shot you, exactly where he pitched his tent.
Also for vechiles, can you do the same as going 3rd person after being shot out of 1 or being destroyed ain't good.

The whole point of the long respawn time is so you dont want to die. You aint going to run right into the open all guns blazing in real life are you, and if you know you have a very long respawn time you aint going to want to do that ither. think the kit time is set to a time with your man down time. But yes, its exstramly funny when you dont pick up a kit and you have to run arrond like a scarcrowDemio wrote:Just watchout not to make the man down timer longer than the kit despawn timer, or you'll see many walking dead bodies (you know, when you don't have a kit near you and you get revived your body stays in the same position as your corpse was).
I can rember charging across the dam on steel thunder with my team covering to try and slap a sniper when i got to the other side

I'd agree with 30 seconds, but have yet to experiment with different man down settings.
Taking out the abillity to med is stupid IMO, man time should be about 10 seconds, and the devs should do everything in their power to make it more random, based on what they were killed by etc
