It's ok. I get over excited about stuff too. I conceid that I'm not an expert when it comes to helicopters or aircraft in general. Do know that they are highly susceptable to small arms though. Lots of driveshafts and other critical systems to get shot up.

Could we put Warren's Munitions suggestion into effect for choppers?

Lol, here's an idea that I thought of when someone earlier mentioned a 2 min spawn time for pilots. Heli's simply take no damage from impacting anything other then another vehicle, but depending on speed and angle the passengers can get hurt. That way you could affectivly crashland at all sorts of weird angles n stuff, I mean I doubt you HAVE to land it normally to survive.

For example, last night on Qwai, this littlebird was flying overhead and got hit by something and started falling to the ground. I think he landed in a village and excploded, well with any sort of crashlanding ideas suggested thus far, landing in a town would still mean instant death since your heli would hit a building, tip over, and die.

If the heli didn't take damage from hitting static objects, then you COULD hit that building, and tip over, but not die. All depends on how much health you had, and the speed you were going. However since no heli's would ever die in crashes this way, only the pilots, make it so that if a heli is left on it's side or something for too long, it explodes and respawns.

Skill would still have to be needed, as if the pilot crashes too fast he still dies, but this would mean that as long as the pilot was going slow enough, he could affectivly crashland anywhere. Cuz I mean, lets face it, you might not allways be able to find a nice open area. Sometimes you might have to crash in a city, or a forest.

I really like Warren's idea.

I just had a thought. Its funny how everyone gets all 'Sooo unrealistic!! In Black Hawk Down...' about crashing, but no one ever whines that theres no collision model on the rotors......

A more cynical observer might speculate that people are just trying to make things easier?
