I woulda searched, but I realized I had NO idea how to search for this, so if it's been suggested just lock it.
Anyways, I'm talking to my friend and I thought of something, would it be possible to essentially glue a player to the inside of a heli? So that if the walk inside a heli, like the merlin, and stop moving, then if the heli moves they're glued to that spot and move with it? Seems kinda complex so I don't know. But if it could be done, would kinda solve the limit of only 8 people. You could fit as many people as could stand in there lol.

Again the engine doesn't like it, that's why we have no hover crafts (LCH I beleive its called) and why you can't just stand inside a blackhawk when flying/at all. get in the back of a truck with its' moving and try to not have some weird *** motion going on, like your sticking to a spot than throw foward than stick than thrown foward and your seeing the back of hte truck every so often, thats' what would happen

Hmm, well that sucks. Why is it then that it is possible to ride on a vehicle and not get killed? I've seen instances where someone would like, go prone on a tank n have it drive around and not get killed. Why is that instance differant then someone standing in a merlin?

I dunno, but that sucks! On Joint Operations you had hover craft and 150 player servers! Why did BF2 go backwards??

It would open up a world of possibilities if the devs could find a way to be inside of a moving vehicle. I was watching Join Operations vids and that game is so superior to BF2 when it comes to vehicle-infantry interactions. Being able to put a humvee in the back of a chinook? Or walk around in a blackhawk? Really wish we could do that in PR.

Apparently, if the DICE developers had been able to figure this one out, there would be a hovercraft in vBF2 right now. If they couldn't do it, how can we do it with less access to the same code?

When did they ever say they couldn't do it? I just figured they chose not to do it, if other companies could do it, DICE sure should be able to. I mean EA is one of the biggest game producers in the world, and you're telling me they can't get programmers who can make it so you can stand in a moving vehicle? Seems kinda far fetched.gclark03 wrote:Apparently, if the DICE developers had been able to figure this one out, there would be a hovercraft in vBF2 right now. This features is not in the game, and as far as I know hasent been done. No need to fight over why they did or didnt do it. Yes this would be a nice feature!
Until a Dice programmer or a clever scripter can tell us why, this threads closed on the grounds of speculations.
