bugger...okay, my name's Spartacus (sit down you lot...)

BF2 just arrived from Amazon but cannot get on until tonight (7 pm UK time). All patches plus PR Core and PR Levels downloaded already.
Do you carry over your existing BF2 IDs or do you create new ones?
If you carry over, my ID is GBOC. If not, it will be DGDavid.

Well, finally got on for a few hours last night and really enjoyed it.
I was lucky enough to join a squad run by a guy called Spinkyone who was very helpful and patient with me, explaining many things throughout the game. Later on I played with other players like Hammas, Genax, Darovic who were all equally friendly. Seems like this community is par for the course in PR which is very nice.

As far as the game was concerned, it was a real eye opener. I love the big open maps and the genuine need (not just hype) for teamwork and the fact that opposing squads also work effectively as units against you. Also like nice touches like only knowing if you've killed someone if you see their body!

Need to persuade other clan members to come over. I think the Arma background certainly helps and I think we would work well. Couple of them hate BF2 though (legacy of the initial bunny hopping/swan dive days) but are open to the concept of this being very different. I know the clan leader (Taxman) is up for it so we'll see.

See you in-game (tag is DGDavid). Thanks to everyone for their responses.

DG
