FH2 sniper scope
If any of you have seen the new Forgotten Hope 2 sniper scope it is much more realistic. Personally I think that PR should adopt this scope for enhanced realism.

Re: FH2 sniper scope
Forgotten Hope is a World War II modification, whereas Project Reality deals with current and near-current conflicts. To be perfectly honest, Sniper Rifles failed to come into their own until the late fifties, the sniper scopes of WWII do not accuratly depict those used by modern snipers and marksman.

Re: FH2 sniper scope
There are three things (which I can think of) that Italia Joe could be referring to. Firstly the pseudo weapon sway, secondly the reticles and thirdly, being able to see the scope housing and outside of the scope.
The weapon sway in FH2 is pseudo because the the sight picture sways but not the weapon itself. This means that the round always goes into the middle of the screen despite the crosshair being to the side.
The reticule for the Lee Enfield No.4 Mk I Sniper is the one used by the QBU-88 (Type 8
rifle in PR and vBF2. The reticle for the Karabiner K98 (ZF) is custom three post one and is not used in PR. It however would be appropriate for the sniper variant of the Mosin-Nagant which typically uses a three post 3.5x PU scope apparently.
The problem with being able to see the scope housing and outside of the scope is that the magnification of the scope is retained. This isn't so bad for the M4's Aimpoint since the zoom is so small but for a scope with lots of magnification it doesn't look right.

But how would it look for the rifle man scope, IRL you wouldn't stick your eyeball in the scope while your shooting, thats how you get black eyes

Re: FH2 sniper scope
In the Australian military it is affectionately coined, "Steyr-eye" as the service rifle is the F88 AuSteyr. It may be realistic to see around your scope but it isn't realistic so see a magnified version of the surroundings is it?ERASERLASER wrote:But how would it look for the rifle man scope, IRL you wouldn't stick your eyeball in the scope while your shooting, thats how you get black eyes![]()

But could you make it like the m4, where you see the surroundings but the only thing thats magnified is the scope? Im talking about the rifleman scopes btw

As nedlands said, you don't notice it on reddots because the zoom is marginal...

Re: FH2 sniper scope
Everything is magnified with the M4. Same will happen, but be a lot worse, with high powered scopes.ERASERLASER wrote:But could you make it like the m4, where you see the surroundings but the only thing thats magnified is the scope? Im talking about the rifleman scopes btw

tbh when ever i have used a susat before you dont notice the surrondings as you are concentrating on the reticule. it is mostly black anyway. even when usuing irons i dont notice the surroundings im too busy look ing at my front sight.

Re: FH2 sniper scope
as timo said you don't notice the surrounds like the side of the scope etc, you get light in but it's very unfocused and you normally only see around the nose bone (depends if you shoot open eyed or not) with a sniper rifle you would shoot one eyed and you would have less detail while with a susat or ironsight you are trained to use both eyes.
