Supply drop indicator

Post by Scot »

Wondering if we could get maybe a light or something to in the helo hud to flash green when you are slow enough and low enough to drop supply crates, and its red when you are too fast and/or too low so it makes it more user friendly to drop supplies. Dunno if its possible but it would make dropping supplies easier.

10m is the max high for a drop , and take no chance , slow down to a running man speed.

Maybe make a small icon in the hud as I believe that you cant have something like that in the chopper itself.

I found this sentence quite funny and since this is a war game forum I will put it here. No offense to the french just a good laugh.

necro'd

what about just having a supply box icon that is reported to commander when the box get dropped like a mine? so the SL's know where to divert to for supplies while on the run?

as commander i tend to use icons for assets that are not on the map and just relay the clarification to my SL's but it would be nice to just have a supply icon for the commander

lol different suggestion all together. the op was talking about for the pilot so he knows if he can drop the crate without destroying it NOT so men can find it. but that is also a helpful idea

i like the op's idea, we dont exactly have the situational awareness we need at the moment to deal with this realistically...hell realistically we'd be able to rope the crate down.

I tend to drop them at max speed if the area is hot. They don't break. And they don't have momentum so it's easy to place them correctly. Though since this thread is pretty old, can't remember if the current crates were made back then (before it was just weak vanilla crates).

Maybe something should be tweaked/changed regarding the invincibility of crates.

Its a good idea, a realy good idea, a light that shines green when you are at the right altitude then flashes red when you've dropped. This could be good for low level flying, airborne troop insertions and more, im backing 100%
