I decided to do a little clip for a particularly unique occurance. I myself had nothing to do with it, but it is certainly worth sharing.

Video commentary:
I would like to apologize ahead of time for the shortage of music. However the sound of cannons, coaxial machine guns and explosions should be more than enough to please most Project Reality players.

Enjoy the first few minutes of combat footage, while everything after that... Takes an unexpected turn.

Tank Commander / Driver - =PtB= vsbf2sniper (Crewman)
Main Turret Gunner - =WTC= 1stLtOneArmWally (Crewman)
Mounted .50 Caliber Gunner - N/A

This clip has been taken from The Battle Arena server, off of the Battle Recorder file of the "Al Basrah" map on June/14/2008 as seen from the perspective of a Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank (MBT).

Project Reality (v0.75): Challenger 2 vs. Civilian (Alternate link here.)

<Note: After repeated attempts to try and post the video on this web page it still cannot be done. I've tried several methods including Mora's suggestion and yet still... No dice. Maybe an [R-MOD] can offer a suggestion.>

Yeah, I think WeGame has an issue trying to show videos in a different web page unlike YouTube. The link works though, I just tried it. Give it alittle while I suppose. Or simply search it on WeGame and look for it on the last page as it was just freshly uploaded.

Thats because the link is incorrect.

Now its http://www.wegame.com/watch/http://www. ... Civilians/

For some reason when you put [WEGAME] tags around it the forum puts "http://www.wegame.com/watch/" in front of it.

So you only need to post "Project_Reality_v0_75_Challenger_2_vs_Civil ians/" with the tags around it.

I agree, I always have a full crew whenever I use a tank. I don't mess around with civilians as they're still capable of doing harm. I almost always instruct my engineer to stay with the vehicle at all times unless a civilian just so happens to be out in the middle of nowhere, which seldomly happens.

Later on in the Battle Recorder someone actually ends up getting stoned to death by a group of 4-5 civilians by the small river north of west village. Just so happens that it was a crewman that got out of a piece of armor to try and "arrest" them. Didn't work out well at all.

Yes, that is correct. But if you knife them as he did it adds up to +30 Tickets (+10 Tickets x 3 Civilians) and +21 Intelligence Points (+7 Intel. Points x 3 Civilians.) toward locating a cache. Or you could just run them over by going forward resultantly nutralizing the civilians without any positive or negative impact to either side.

So it simply comes down to circumstance, if you can get away with doing it safely or not. I avoid civilians as suicide cars usually follow shortly thereafter. Not only that but civilians generally distract people including tank gunners. You can have a slew of civilians run at a tank and most people become confused on what to do, then usually leads to chaos. I generally say something to my crew like "Stay focused on the threat, ignore the civilians as they will distract you away from your targets."

But what can I say, that moment was simply golden.

haha nice vid!

Tanks should always have infantry support!

Who was the squad leader?? You can tell he was a smart guy, he stayed calm, got his gunner to continue scanning the area, then he asked his engineer to come and create a distraction for the civs, which he did by pulling up and just shooting at them (but not hittting them)

then all the civs turned around, trying to stone him, and the commander calmly hopped out, knifing each of those dumb ******** ehhehe

cool vid, but this kind of behavior from civilians is not really ideal...

Why are civis so obsessed with hopping on top of Challengers? I mean I accidently blew up a civi whilst firing an rpg at a tank :D
