How about shrinking all the models to make seemingly larger maps?

It is a good idea, but that would mean redoing ALL the models?

Hmm, wouldn't that lower the graphics quality or something? I mean there has to be some kind of penalty right? Plus, do the graphics even work is such a way where something like that would work?

It might be possible in theory, but EVERYTHING would have to be redone. Not only EVERY model and EVERY texture, but also lots of coding.

It's absolutely not worth it.

There are already map size hacks that do the same job better and without requiring the retooling of every single model in the game.

I think the maps are big enough as it is. They can easily support 64 players (would be nice if BF2 allowed more <.<).

well from what i have been told from mosquill the z-fighting would be increased alot so it would be pointless as it would make everything look bad.

I think you are right and dice has got them as small as they can without losing perspective.
It would look like ****. It would knock the graphics back to Half-life 1.

Might work with science fiction or a one vehicle mod where perspectives are different.

While that was a interesting idea, I dont think it works that way :mrgreen:

Maps can be made 8x8 KM but it will require water around a island to make it look good.
