China vs Japan
A Japan v China battle would be interesting
The Chinese and Japanese are sworn enemies since WW2

Re: {proposal] China v Japan
SOmething about the 1945 surrender terms doesnt allow Japan to do anything whit its forces then defence and they also cant have a big amount of troops.
(how they got them to peacekeep in iraq, only god knows.)

But...japan and US are allies,US has bases on japanese soil to launch there strikes against china,so china attacks japan.it fits perfectly and it could be interesting.

I heard about talks to abolish that article in their constitution, though I'm not sure how far it's going/went.

Re: {proposal] China v Japan
Which is the most likely scenario. No question Japan would be caught dead in the middle in the event of a major war based around the pacific. They would become involved whether they like it or not simply because the U.S has a whole damn division stationed in okinawa Japan.KingLorre wrote:SOmething about the 1945 surrender terms doesnt allow Japan to do anything whit its forces then defence and they also cant have a big amount of troops.

Also, I do remember an article written by some U.S Air Force guy or something talking about what China would do if they attacked. It involved missiles and a bunch of other craziness but it did mention Japan being a target. Not necessarily for invasion but bombings and missile strikes would target Japanese soil.

No for all the above reasons said. And if Japan whent to war NATO would back them fully, so really no.
NATO allowed them too, but only as a peace keeping force.(how they got them to peacekeep in iraq, only god knows.)

Re: {proposal] China v Japan
It would be a very unrealistic conflict as there would really be no point to it. It also means making a Japanese faction which I dont think many people would be interested in. IMO this is one of the worst ideas ever.

It would be more likely for China to go to war with Japan rather than with UK and US.google wrote:It would be a very unrealistic conflict as there would really be no point to it. Check out the CQB mod, there is alreadly a Japanese fraction created.

To call the CQB Jap team a complete faction is a little bit to much. Inf is maybe compete the rest not. Because they want to create a kind of Spezial Forces Mod.AIAbermuda wrote:It would be more likely for China to go to war with Japan rather than with UK and US.

Btw its useless to discuss with reference to an other mod because we cant use there stuff (no BSS) so we have to start at 0.
We have at the moment so many community factions that i would say let finish them and then we can talk about japs.

If we are deciding that toward games, US and China are already at war in BF2.

Re: {proposal] China v Japan
Realize that Japan utilizes hardware that's pretty much all in game already. At best I think they have a different tank and a different assault rifle. So the majority of models are pretty much done, just a lot of skinning, a couple of models and a few new maps are all that's needed (Being no modder though, that's just an observation on my part).hall0 wrote:To call the CQB Jap team a complete faction is a little bit to much. In terms of story though, it's as I mentioned the USMC at least have a whole division based off of Okinawa
US Military Bases in Mainland Japan and Okinawa
3rd Marine Division (United States - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)
Now if we go on the assumption that China dealed the initial attack, Japan (and probably South Korea too) would be probable targets.
Here's the article I was talking about earlier too.
Hypothetical attack on U.S. outlined by China - Air Force News, news from Iraq - Air Force Times
Granted though, I'm personally not big on seeing Japan either. Though I do think if anyone was to add them there are facts and probabilities to support their inclusion.

Re: [Proposal] China vs Japan
Unless its China invading Japan then it could be plausible as Japan only has a defence force like Isreal.so it could work.

Jap is actually an offensive term :\ [had that bashed into my head too many times by teachers and exchange students, hehe
even though I say it as in JAP 302 for language classes, etc]
Article 9 of their constitution is the article you are referring to.
Id be for a JSDF/Japanese army faction, but yeah... it wouldnt be worth it, imho.
That CQB mod is fun though

Re: [Proposal] China vs Japan
We have the IDF and ADF, so why not JSDF?
I can't see a major conflict happening in China and Korea (HoH is in N. Korea, right?) without allowing the JSDF to be mobilized and put into the battle. It could add more variety, too as the only oriental Asian faction is the Chinese (All the community factions are mostly caucasian/african)
What would need to be done:
Type 89 (Main battle rifle),
NTK-62 (GPMG),
Type 64 (Limited use battle rifle, being replaced by the Type 89),
Type 90 MBT,
Type 96 APC (Similar to the Stryker),
Komatsu LAV (I htink somehting similar is being made for the Chinese), and the
Type 89 IFV.
Type 87 (Basically a gepard with a new chassis)
Kawasaki OH-1
F-4 (Could be taken from EOD possibly)
F-15E
Mitsubish F-1
Some of the weapons are already made or being made
SG P226,
Carl-Gustav,
Panzerfaust 3,
Stinger
M16/M4 and
M24
Vehicles already made or being made:
AH-1
UH-1
UH-60
CH-47
AH-6
AH-64
Though it'd be a ton of work, personally, I'd absolutely love to see the JSDF ingame.

You know, after thinking about it for 2 seconds, I realized that if you consider PR in the near future...and you figure every main country is fighting in these fierce battles all across the world.... something tells me Japan would be involved in some manner or other...
We have the US, China, Russia, insurgents, rebels, MEC, IDF, ADF, Canada, etc... so I guess we can assume the war around PR is pretty damn big, if it is all oen connected war, hehe

A more likely scenario would be a battle between China and Japan over the Senkaku/Diaoyutai Islands, which there has been a long dispute about the ownership of the island, claimed by both China and Japan and currently controlled by Japan. Maybe we could come up to something like a Wake Island scenerio.

Re: [Proposal] China vs Japan
no matter what cool stuff they might have, i really think we should concentrate on the existing factions since they are simply enough work to do.
