General Dragosh wrote:Well... lets discuss about militia...
In short they are weak against the GB, cause some people scream CR2 pawns all(i know there is no CR2 on militia maps)...which is sadly true...and if the CR2 doesent finish the yob that the schmitar or the warrior does...
Since the story is somwhere in 2012 or later shouldnt the militia get at least a t-72 or a M-84(for those from croatia and serbia know what i talk about) and not to forget air assets(i know this has been nurgeld upon, but hey a Mi-24 old varriant is easy to find - cause the militia is a weapons dealer organisation, and a Mig-21 would be possible)
Militia as a weapons dealer org. they propably sold weapons to insurgents(which brought them profit), i still wonder where the MEC got their BTR-90 and the T-90

,but nevertheless...
Militia should be better equipped with better tanks and other armored vehicles...raging from a T-72 to whatnot - from the SSSR days...a T-72 is old LMAO...how could u not get one of those nowdays... especilly the militia would have easy access to them since they are somwhere in russia...
So im all for upgrading the militia... and no falaming to much about the militia could not get a T-72 or a old hind or a mig-21, nor how about the CR2 pawns your grandmother

:mrgreen

little joke from me)
And this is a suggestion/discussion not a "Militia is weak and they will stay weak" flame thread...ok?
1) The strength of the CR2 is completely and utterly irrelevant at this point because as you pointed out, no Challenger on Fool's or Mestia.
2) The Militia have plenty of LAT and HAT with which to engage the Scimis and Warriors.
3) A Hind, or any form of attack chopper, is just a no-no for all the reasons people have listed above. It's one thing to be running a small private army to protect your arms business, another to operate a helicopter. If you think that keeping a Mi-24 maintained is easy, I suggest you read up on the Afghanistan war. The mechanical attrition of the Hind due to the hot dusty enviroment kept the Soviet air force struggling.
4) MEC aren't insurgents. They're a fully conventional fighting force of several large nations. They can afford to import or manufactor under license the T-90 and BTR-90 just fine.
5) Militia maps aren't set in Russia. I suggest reading the map description to find out where
6) Just because a tank is
old it doesn't make it easy to aquire a working, combat-capable model. The Sherman is old, it doesn't mean that even if I had enough money I'd be able to get my hands on one - AND sufficient quantities of ammunition to make it worthwhile.
The militia are weaker than the British in terms of their equipment, yes... but they would be in real life. The Taleban weren't running M-84s or T-84 around, for example. Nor are the warlords who've taken over from them in many parts of A'stan.
The Militia aren't supposed to be played in the same way that you'd play as MEC, GB US or PLA. You're not supposed to go storming in with a tank, IFV/APC support, guided anti-tank missiles.
The militia are
meant to be played much more cleverly:
-Use ambushes and hit-and-fade tactics to take down a British vehicle and then escape before the supporting infantry can pin you down.
-Use explosives to rig buildings/CPs before they become overrun, pull out of the area and then detonate the explosives behind you as you go as the British move in.
-Militia weapons have no tracers. You can open fire from concealment and it will be bloody difficult for the Brits to return fire accurately.
-You can load up with up to 3 RPG-7s in a single squad if your squadmates grab the HAT versions and you grab the LAT. Set good ambushes and you'll rip through a convoy without a problem
-Militia weapons obviously don't have optical sights, for the most part - yes, this makes engaging the Brits at range really difficult.
So don't do it! Avoid contact at anything beyond 100m, engage only when you're close up and able to be sure you're going to get the kill.
-Pick up British kits. You loose the no-tracer advantage, but you'll usually gain the scoped weapon. The L85 also sounds very distinctive, and if you open fire at long range there's every possibility that the enemy won't realise it's a hostile firing.
In short, don't bemoan what the militia
lack but utilise what they've
got. They make a nice change from the standard conventional forces while still playing AAS2 rather than Insurgency mode.
