China vs Japan

Id rather see another enemy IE: North korea or maybe india or something like that then japan.

I just dont like the idea of Japan waging war. it might be plausible in a scenario or something however PR doe not have a story, i would be fine whit US forces battling Chinese forces on Japan but not for another faction. lets try getting the other mods done first. for as it seems they could use all the help they can get right now.

considering japanese law explicitly forbids troops from engaging in combat operations overseas, any scenario involving japanese forces are going to be held on japanese soil. with that comes making statics, scenery and a massive workload that i doubt will really pay off.

by all means create a JSDF faction if you can, they just wont fit in many scenarios thats all.

A more likely scenario would be a battle between China and Japan over the Senkaku/Diaoyutai Islands, which there has been a long dispute about the ownership of the island, claimed by both China and Japan and currently controlled by Japan. Maybe we could come up to something like a Wake Island scenerio.

That sort of ties in with my scenario. China would only see Americans in Japan as a threat because they know we'll back Taiwan up in the event of a Chinese invasion of Taiwan.

Now considering we already have China at war with apparently... all of NATO, they must have done something pretty damn bad to provoke that attack (Knowing how NATO only supports one another if one country is attacked). Which also ties into the possibility that China probably hit Taiwan, South Korea and Japan in some sort of major offensive. And also, if we bring in BF2's plot, where China invaded Wake Island which is U.S territory then we can assume China mobilized it's forces throughout much of the pacific. Much like the Japanese did in WW2.

Japan as a military force is meaningless at this point in world history. Why go through all that work modeling clones of Western weapons (and a few original designs) when it could all be represented by the US faction on a Japanese map?

Thats been on the table for some time now, though.

Of course, many citizens are very against the war/any war, there are still those who feel its time to get rid of article 9...

I just wish we'd all some day get to that point, but wont happen... :shrug:

Bottom line, get some people together and try to make it a reality, it all needs to start somewhere. Might even get some help from the CQB team...maybe. I wouldnt know. Heh.

SOmething about the 1945 surrender terms doesnt allow Japan to do anything whit its forces then defence and they also cant have a big amount of troops.

(how they got them to peacekeep in iraq, only god knows.)

yeah but japan has a "special police force" which is pretty much trained and run like the military, on paperwork its like SWAT or the SPETSNAZ in russia, but in reality its more or less an army

We have the IDF and ADF, so why not JSDF?
I can't see a major conflict happening in China and Korea (HoH is in N. Korea, right?) without allowing the JSDF to be mobilized and put into the battle. It could add more variety, too as the only oriental Asian faction is the Chinese (All the community factions are mostly caucasian/african)

What would need to be done:

Type 89 (Main battle rifle),
NTK-62 (GPMG),
Type 64 (Limited use battle rifle, being replaced by the Type 89),

Type 90 MBT,
Type 96 APC (Similar to the Stryker),
Komatsu LAV (I htink somehting similar is being made for the Chinese), and the
Type 89 IFV.
Type 87 (Basically a gepard with a new chassis)

Though it'd be a ton of work, personally, I'd absolutely love to see the JSDF ingame.
