AL BASRAH NIGHTS!
I was thinking today, there are a lot of lights on al basrah, street lights, lights on the guard posts etc, well why not turn all of them on and have an al basrah night map?! you can put nav and strobe lights on the chopper, lights on the vehicals, tracer bullets, explosioin effects, muzel flash, lights on the british guns or laser sights, and heaps more. keeping the same sort of map and objectives, but with lights on and sun gone.
What ya think?

Man,I love this idea soo much, along with many other, but it's been suggested so many times..and it'll probably never happen...

Basrah at sunrise/sunset,or night would be soo nice.

Re: AL BASRAH NIGHTS!
EDIT: Seems that I completely misread the topic - my God, I need to get more sleep!
This seems like a very good idea, but it still involves tweaking those lightmaps, which takes time and isn't exactly a piece of cake. Also, it has to be light enough for both sides to play without night vision, which shouldn't be a problem in the inner city, where most of the combat needs to be anyway.

Re: AL BASRAH NIGHTS!
Lol, so you just want a night map? I don't know, but I think there should be a new map (simular to basrah) that is night, not putting out 2 versions of the same map.

Re: AL BASRAH NIGHTS!
why not 2 of the same? The current one would be perfect for a night map..

agreed
HangMan: BF2 Editor, it has very strict limitations memory wise, and crashes all the time. Its like a girl. Treat it with respect and take it slow and you'll get places. Rush and get ahead of yourself and it will turn around and punch you in the mouth

Quick question, does PR have NVGs?

yes they do, But my idea to neutralize the NVGs vs. Insurgents was to maybe give the insurgents flares or something. Kind of like FH2. Ive done this with my personal SP minimod and it worked out pretty well.

PR do have a NVG, the stupid cheap one where its so dark that rendered the goggle useless.

Would be awesome and I'd have fun playing it but I feel like being an arse right now, so, is it realistic? Does the military go cache searching in the middle of the night?

Re: AL BASRAH NIGHTS!
The military has been known to prefer operations at night, though I'm not sure if they apply this doctrine when there's no actual OPFOR to destroy. In an insurgency situation, I'm really not sure whether they'd fight at night, but it would definitely give them an advantage.SleepyHe4d wrote:Would be awesome and I'd have fun playing it but I feel like being an arse right now, so, is it realistic? The bad part? Advantages are great in real life - they save the lives of your men and make suppressing the insurgents easier - but they might not be as beneficial in games, where fairness is one of the few ways to keep the gamer interested.

It would be moon lite, so you would be able to see rivers and avoid them. and when it comes to advantages, well, I have never seen the brits win al basrah... never, so i think they need an advantage, dont you?
