Do these sniper kits and marksman kit fire tracer bullets?

Post by sav112 »

I’m coming to terms with the fact there is no under growth at distance so you have to watch your positioning, trying to lie down next to trees etc below the tops of hills. I’ve given up on the sniper kits I don’t know if its me or the game but cant hit anything with it but I can do really well with lesser marksman kit.

Question is….

Do these sniper kits and marksman kit fire tracer bullets that immediately give my position away? :(

I get the idea that you’d pick up the general direction a shot has come from but I keep finding out that I fire and next thing I’m under fire. And we are talking a good distance here.

I was on a Forested Map the one with west and east tower and took ages getting to a great spot to pin and take pot shots at distance on the east tower. I Could see a whole lot of activity so took my shot and just missed. My plan was not to fire back right after to make it hard for them to figure out my position but I could actually see three right after my shot know exactly were I was. It was like a big pink blow up sheep appeared beside me as I shot.

Is it muzzle flash?
Is it tracer rounds?
Is it just you stand out at distance so much its so easy to spot you.

I pray BF3 fixes undergrowth and some terrain glitches, as I’m the one getting killed, but that has to be a good few years off…..BF3 PR 3.1 that is…..

Sound spotted, then SL put sniper marker around you, relay information to CO, relay info to all SL...could be.

It takes many hours and skill in PR to be a GOOD sniper/marksman.

The sound IS giving you away believe me.

So the best plan is to take one shot and get out of sight quickly and reposition someplace else….Does that marker show up if your out of sight?

The other thing is the accuracy of the machine guns at distance, there more accurate than me with a scope….

Thing with snipers is that you should be smart and cunning and you should pick your targets instead of sitting on the highest point in the map firing down on something like an idiot IMO

Agreed. Try to just go a whole round while spotting things out for your command or squad. Makes you feel good and from time to time you can get a nice shot off.

BTW Outlawz, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GET RID OF THE CHRISTMAS AVY ALREADY!! Its JUNE man, JUNE!

umm if there were tracer rounds you would see them like everyother gun, and just to no there is no any tracer rounds for marksman and sniper rifles, the muzzle flash wouldnt really give you away as most of the time effects dont draw at distance.

yes it is wayy to easy to see a sniper at a distance, there would be no grass and the trees become very small and you can see through them.

The other thing to remember is to not go to the highest position cuz thats the first place everybody will look... If snipers had tracers.. it would be an utterly useless sniper if you think about the role of the sniper. Get to a position where u are right next to a tree, or in the middle of a bunch of them, or better yet, in a bush.

Thing is I do my best for the squad, last round at a point called train dept I scouted the area out, took out seven players one on which was at a window ( Sorry prob one of my best shots as he knew I was about)

When my squad were capping I VOIP and kept them right with attacking forces. If they had a problem I more or less took care of it while they were in the compound, saved a few of there life’s when I even found the enemy sniper and took him out, just a pity it was not a clean first shot took me three…..

So I know the score probably one of the better snipers out there, efficient, a squad player, deadly at times. But every so often I feel like I’m painted orange with a huge sign saying I’m here. I followed a sniper he was at our squad position or near enough but not in our squad I respected him as he had been killed three times with thirty eight kills and he was doing much as I was. I know that sounds annoying me following him but I was not near enough for that I just kept tabs on him. Between us we even helped hold a point called Heli-Base, while my squad was pinned inside a building we were picking them off.
