Re: Top gunner same squad
During normal (noncombat) ops, the commander often has his torso outside so he can direct the driver and maintain situational awareness in the tank's immediate vicinity. The driver has a VERY limited field of view. Imagine trying to back a 70-ton tank up when all you have is three tiny periscope windows that look forward, slightly left, and slightly right. According to my brother (ex-M1 driver), driving a tank is like trying to race a baja car while looking through a drinking straw. Once the tank is in a combat, they will button up so they don't take small arms, shrapnel, or grenades. The view that the driver has in PR is more like the commander's view from his position inside the tank.

Your pretty new so your probably not aware, but it's not really considered good conduct to advocate any sort of teamkilling.Colt556 wrote:My advice to you for next time, put a round through his head. Don't just sit there as the guy is being an asshat and wasting ammo. However if he's compotent and tells you he doesn't want to, just accept it. There are no reservations in PR, first come first serve, suck it up and move along.
Anyway I agree in principle that they should be in the same squad, to be honest, I think ever individual tank should have it's own squad for move markers and clear comms. But unfortunately on some maps there's far too much armour, and too little squads, for this kind of structure.
