Defibrillators

Post by Rudd »

Sometimes, bodies will not revive unless you throw a dressing on them first.

Could the defibrillator, at the same time as zapping, provide the kind of effect the bandage gives in this regard?

Very good idea, maybe like the new pyro tf2 update, the alt fire produces a shock to move the body.

If it was put on alt fire, you could also try to move the body out of a dangerous position as long as cover is close. Try to at least. But i dunno if it will work...

However, the main idea is good.

Could there not possibly be some way to exploit this possibly?

By the way, saw "House" for the first time ever the other day, I refuse to believe he's actually played by Hugh Laurie...

In a good or bad way? If you see the later series, they turn him into a more soppy character, whereas you could link Hugh Laurie to House in seasons 1 and 2. It links on better from his earlier work, although the sarcasm was more applied by other characters in his shows. Wonder if Steven Fry would make an appearance, he seems to pop up often with Hugh, Emma Thompson (of weird sound in Sense and Sensibility fame) also seems to appearquite often.

It would be awesome if there was some capacity to carry a body (a la No-one lives forever), but I don't think it is possible with the Bf2 engine.

When you use Defibs, House should spawn next to you nagging you till you 'cure' the patient, so people can actually revive :-P .

I'm gonna quote myself here from the recent Dev Journal WIP thread for Medic stuff.
Sgt.Smeg wrote:Yeah, its all coming together.. :)

Whilst dbzao and fuzzhead scratch their heads over these ideas, I've got another one.

Sure medics usually have enough dressings to un-glitch critically wounded players and can normally find a source for more if they run out. We shouldn't need to use them for this reason though.

What we need is some kind of action for the medic that appears to be "melee" ish that drops an invisible object (dressing) that destroys itself almost straight away. Obviously having infinite ammo of these that have the same de-glitching ability as the field dressings.

This weapon slot could be called "grab patient" or "slap" lol. It wouldn't necessarily need an animation either.

Already suggested? Weapon slots too valuable? Shit idea?
dbzao;692892']It's a nice idea, but yes it would require a weapon slot and that is expensive.

I don't think that's possible, but would be something to look after.
I think you've sussed more on how it should work, Rudd. Hopefully dbzao is taking note and having luck in this dept.
