Harrier and its "jumping" capabilities

Post by M_Striker »

Hi, I was told that the harrier realistically cannot take off vertically with its full weapon payload fitted to the aircraft. Is this true? And if it is, i was wondering if the upcoming harrier GR9s will be able to overcome this flaw. I read it would have stronger engine power. Just wonderin'.

how will the jet handle in terms of hovering basically... (in PR)

in r/l the harrier (including GR9 which has been in service for some time now) can not take off vertically with a full pay load of weapons afaik.

The Harrier is a STOVL aircraft really.

In PR due to the BF2 engine limits I don't think there will be any way in stopping the harrier from taking off vertically unless we dont allow it to land vertically as well :p

well getting it into VTOL may be quite hard, in r/l its pretty hard to control the aircraft in hover mode.

I think some "noobs" if you will, will treat it like a helicopter :P

Though question to Rhino, in the training version there is a Harrier on 64 Kashan map.
Will the Harrier have the same controls as that one, or have you completely redone it?

Well the question was not about wether the new-to-come Harrier was a new version, or as you said GR7 to GR9

It was if the control have been changed, but I take your answer as a yes ;)
Also the current Harrier controls are foolish and unrealistic. Hope your dev guys do your magical thing.

Can there be a system(in PR not server) where the person who flips a Harrier 2 times automtically gets like -1000 points???? For those nubs who jump in it and try to fly like in vanilla(not caring).

Because 1 time isn't really......it could be an accident or lagg.

But if somebody is lagging that bad than they shouldn't be flying anyways.
