[Proposal] Falklands Mini-Mod
Before any comment ill like to say hello to all the comunity and congratulate the entire team of the MOD developpers and the page webmasters.
Im a member of the PR comunity in Argentina ( Project Reality Argentina ) and the Hellfire Clan ( [HELL]Matias16739 ).
I belive tath many of you have knowledge of the Falklands War (La guerra de las Malvinas) in 1982 betwen Argentina and Britain. We have interest in make a MOD based on the PR, just as the IDF or German, a new faction - Argentina - . The british forces are allready in the MOD so it would be the only new faction. We have material over History, Battles, Strategys from our forces, tophographics maps and a big dessire to make this faction true.
The issue is tath we have not any 3D expert to make the assault riffle FN FAL 7,62x51mm, or the skins of the soldiers, guns and vehicles.
I would like to have your opinions about this project and know if there is any way to make it true in spite of the lack of qualified personnel.
Txs.

Re: Falklands
just out of curiousity, is this mod going to be based on the original falklands war or will it be a fictional new war in the falklands, like a re-match? because if you use the existing british forces it wont look right considering they have differnt camo now, and dont use FN FALs anymore. and im not sure if the argentinians still use FALs or not.

Re: Falklands
It would have to be a rematch. I like the idea, but the devs probably won't do it because PR is slightly future-based.

Not sure if we have everything the British would need to be incorporated in to this community project. A community member is working on the HMS ocean (good ol' Sgt.Smeg) But don't expect that to be done soon and we don't have any British naval choppers in the mod atm, also Royal Marines would probably feature alot in a conflict like this and they wouldn't be adequately represented.
But there are plenty of placeholders around, so it could work.

Re: Falklands
Hello everyone and txs for the answers.
The first step is to decide if we can makeit happend, with collaborators or ourselfs making a huge effort to learn the modeling tecnics and so.
The second step is to begin with the Argentinian forces (we still use the FAL) and our outfit is not very different. Tath way we can have an inmediate mod running. Argentina vs BRITAIN (sorry about tath one) in an infantry map in the falklands. Tath would be a modern conflict.
THEN we can decide if we let it as a modern conflict or make the modificated british equipment, vehicles and all.
But i think, with the hope of making this faction a future part, a new faction of the official PR (and with the corresponding blessings)maybe should let it as a modern conflict.
I apreciatte your responses, keep them coming. Txs again.

thank god u got in here before me lolDr2B Rudd wrote:Britain mate, not England.
anyway this would be a good idea for an individual mod, but as a community mod/faction it might be a problem, as stated before, PR is a modern/future-based mod

Re: Falklands
Actually, the first step is to decide whether it will be a modern version or not. If not, it won't be in PR, as that's a modern conflict. Don't make all the kit for nothing.matias16739 wrote:Hello everyone and txs for the answers.

Just for fun (as I'm sure you have already researched this) could you post some reference pics etc for Argentinian equipment?

Re: Falklands

I remember going to see the ships off at Portsmouth harbour when i was a kid, then seeing them come back all rusty and full of bullet holes.

Hello, I'm Firmost of argentina, a member of the clan Hellfire, Matias is my teammate, in terms of historical or modern discucion
I think it should be modern for the following reasons:
* Free maps of imagination, situations, and vehicles used.
* The Marine Infantry (Argentine Marines) have the same equipment that U.S. Marines.
* The British Army is already.
* The Navy Argentina, owns HUMEEVE (with TOW too) and UH-1.
are just things that are armed and that would free imagination on the ground. greetings!

PR is turning into WW3!
That said, I'd love to see a mordern conflict at the Falklands in PR.

Re: Falklands
Isnt PR WW3 with US, GB, PLA and MEC. Attacking China is declaring WW3. Now only more factions enters the battlescene.

Sorry if I seem rude, but wouldn't that mean that we'd basically have US forces versus British forces, with some new maps?Firmost wrote:Hello, I'm Firmost of argentina, a member of the clan Hellfire, Matias is my teammate, in terms of historical or modern discucion

Re: Falklands
Im sure theres differences between the US and argentinan forces - the more national factions the better I think, as smaller countries arent represented in commercial games. I dont think it dilutes the player base either, as it would probably make people go out and buy bf2, to play as their national forces.

Just like the US, isnt it? hehe. I think we should make a modern conflict. The easiest work. And prepare it to makeit candidate for a new faction on the PR just in case. and later, if we feel tath we can doit make the historical mod. But we are talking about many time and we didnt get started yet.

Yes, it would be almost the same thing, but this is only an idea which would save time and effort, your can do, the Argentine army, which would have to remodel the skins and weapons .... as well as add other vehicles ...
