any possible locations sorted yet?
I'd say Brum would be good, probly because i live about 5 miles from the city centre
IMO its not just playing the game on a LAN that's good its the chance to meet the wonderful guys who put this all together

who cares where a Lan is, I live in South England and would travel to Newcastle if that was what was needed.
As long as it's during a weekend (ideally before/after a bank holiday) there is enough floor space for a sleeping bag (ideally a blowup mattress), and plenty of notice: I don't care about date or location.
It might be a small hassle but that's usually half the fun, if you plan ahead and make the effort, you can usually get anywhere no matter your money situation or travel problems.
And Lan's usually are well worth any sweat and struggle.
If/once we make a date and a location, those without transport can make a thread and see if anybody that live near them, can give a lift in return for half the petrol money. These Oil price days I am sure there are plenty of people who wouldn't mind sharing their car for half the cost of getting there.

If you have a laptop, grab that, your mouse and your headphones and hitch it to wherever you need to go! Next bank holiday monday is the 25th August.

If the dates are right I'll go. I live in N.Ireland and I've flown over to England with my PC before, which was a royal PITA! If this goes ahead I'll be driving and getting across on a ferry.
If there's anyone from Ireland needs a lift I've got 4 spare seats in a 4x4 up for grabs, plenty of leg room and alot of space in the back for the PC's plus there's the roof rack for any extra gear.

Just a headsup - UK_Force is currently unavaliable due to RL issues. This is still up in the air but we need to wait for his return in order to find out where this stands.

Just to try and keep everyone in the picture, a plan is afoot, and Darkpowder or myself will try and keep you in the picture. Obviously we want to keep this moving and hopefully make it a success. Current thinking is possibly holding our little soiree in Oxfordshire, in September, over a day or two so we can have a few social sherberts. Details to follow!!!
Once a plan is set we will need maximum support and probably fast paced to get the wheels turning. Stay tuned

Regarding the organisation of the event itself, will it be mandatory to go in with a clan or any PR player can join in ? Are you guys planning to put in place some kind of little tournament ? A mini-campaign would be nice !

REAL army? Yuck, PR is not a recruiting tool. We are not Americas Army.[R-DEV]UK_Force wrote:I am also in Discussion with the Army Recruiting Teams who could bring there "Display Team" up, for the weekend.
I have also had an email form John Goddard, the PR Manager for EA Games, who has shown an intrest in Project Reality, which got me thinking about contacting other firms, which I have started to email..
EA PR Manager? I didn't know they had a Project Reality Manager. Seriously though, if you have contact with an EA man

Talking with the recruitment lads is really fun, they can answer all the "is this how it is in real life" type questions
from what i've seen of military involvement in things like this, they can really work hard to add a great atmosphere
