sks with optics + RPK
tried searching didnt come up with anything
lack of optic weapons makes playing insurgents quite deppresing sometimes so what if the Devs threw in a scoped sks pick-up kit
so wadda ya think?
with the dragunov taken out of game i only think its fair the insurgents should have at least some sort of scoped semiauto rifle
also ive seen pics of the RPK remodled (i think it was R-mod Dylans work im not sure tho) and was wondering if their were plans for it to be included ingame

the dragonuv really needs to make a comeback, real life insurgents use them in droves. same goes for the rpk, why this isnt included is beyond me. even if they just use the vanilla version. an RPD would be really awesome as well.

Re: sks with optics + RPK
well its not the svd, it the kalshiv (something like that) A cheap version of the svd, and a reskin would be nice too.
Scoped sks are very rare from what I hear, and need an actual part to be changed out in the rifle in order to be mounted.

Rarity isn't really a problem in the PR mod. Just think of how rare the Militia PPsh is in real life!
The scoped SKS would be a useful weapon alongside the SVD - remember that Insurgents don't standardize their weapon caches, but find anything that can kill the enemy, thereby increasing their virgin count in the afterlife.

Yeah, the SVD is coming back apparently as the MEC is being awarded a new Marksman rifle. I too am puzzled why the RPK isn't mixed in with the PKM at insurgent RP Caches or even given to the Militia. Oh well.charliegrs wrote:the dragonuv really needs to make a comeback, real life insurgents use them in droves. same goes for the rpk, why this isnt included is beyond me. even if they just use the vanilla version. an RPD would be really awesome as well.
But an RPD? That had me going back to the days of Rainbow Six Three: Ravenshield. The RPD is an older style weapon and it fires using a cloth belt fed mechanism, compared to the more modern disintegrating metallic belt fed links.

Would also like to mention that the man pictured in this video displays some very nice weapon control.

Re: sks with optics + RPK
Why do teh INS need scoped weapons? They shouldn't be engaging the British out at 200m, they should be opening fire on confused troops after the WIMIK or IFV has just been blown up, using full auto fire from concealed positions.
Then should they stop firing, pull out of the area and vanish.
People should stop trying to engage the Brits on their own terms! Make the fight come to you and then screw them over a barrel. The scope doesn't matter a damn if you're close enough.

Re: sks with optics + RPK
Getting close enough is hard, even if the Insurgents stay in the city and defend the way they're meant to. Almost every time I've had the opportunity to be an Ambusher and place an IED by the road, I've been shot dead by a Brit around the corner. When I do keep my weapon out and a vehicle goes by, I rarely have time to switch to the remote before the vehicle is gone and Brits are flooding my position.
Anyway, the real discussion is about Insurgent marksmen. Masaq, your point certainly applies to the Insurgent sniper kit, but a marksman kit is an important part of urban warfare. Adding another marksman alongside the SVD wouldn't disrupt balance too much, would it?

All it would do is encourage people to go out looking for the Brits though.
Placing IEDs and running an ambush site is a doddle, if you following some guidelines:
Placing IEDs and running an ambush site is a doddle, if you following some guidelines:
- Don't do it alone
- Have your buddy/buddies look around the area before you move to the ambush zone
- Hide the IED behind debris etc
- Use multiple IEDs on opposite sides of the street to capture the whole width of the road in the blast, use IEDs from two ambushers to rig an entire junction
- Place it well in advance of vehicles moving in your direction
- Look to ambush main routes into the city, main routes out of the city and other chockepoints
- Be prepared to wait!

heheh yeah this would be nice, though for whoever said they need to replace a peice to place the scope...if you got some screws 4 shelve mounting brackets and a roll of duct tape, you dont need to change anything.
oh and yeah alotta people complain about the whole hard to use iron sights thing, when i play INSURGENT i get an AK and i rarely ever use the sights just run into the nearest enemy group full auto just remember where the middle of your screen is

Exactly. Full auto rock n' roll at point blank is the way to go

How about adding some RPK kits to Al Basrah? The dice model looks good and you can find them inside technical trucks already. So why not add them as pickups? 75 rounds and deadly accuracy.. I’D buy that for a camel, …dollar

Despite how unrealistic it is, the insurgents really do need at least one non-pickup scoped gun in a kit, just to even up the playing field, or (if you really don't want to give insurgents a scoped gun) give the AK double the 5.56 guns' damage and give Insurgents a bunch of ammo.

war isnt fair..i think its fine..maybe the SVD or the RPK would be nice as a pick up..but i see the insurgents winning games enough w/ what they have
