hold up colt, in these situations, are u under the exact same situation when it happens. I mean like at the type of speed and altitude u have when this happens, and if the same chopper as well.

Yeah. For example I was on the iGi training server and nabbed myself a littlebird. When I was like, 20 meters off the ground, I took my finger off W and just hovered. Then later in the round I did it again, and started falling like a rock. It happens with ALL heli's. :/

When close to the ground the ground starts to act like a magnet although its not so much that you drop like a rock.

I have no idea what the problem is here, it just falls like a rock? I have never had that problem...

I have had it happen to me a few times. Every time it was probably my own ineptitude rather than a problem with the game. Happens when I try lose height quickly by holding the S key then my heli just rolls over and falls like a stone. On the bright side, I do lose height, just a little too much :P

I've hovered just a few meters above the ground without falling rapidly. Infact I've never actually noticed the ground acting as a magnet. So I know that has no bearing on the hovering.

I'll try to film it next time it happens, see if that helps.

fly the little bird and land it somewhere try to takeoff slowly you will notice that it will sort of stick to the ground.

THAT I've noticed, but once I'm in the air I don't get pulled down any faster or anything.

Just use a joystick. Makes hovering a cinch.
