Idea for a new marksmen kit

I think for more realistic gameplay they should replace the m14 with the actually marine standard marksmen rifle the SQUAD ADVANCED MARKSMEN RIFLE (SAMR). Here a link for more info on it. U.S. Marine Corps Squad Advanced Marksman Rifle - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It really is not only a sweat looking gun but is the marines actual marksmen rifle.

The current US forces in PR are a mishmash.

In 0.8+ , USMC and US Army will get separated and each of them will get their own.

The M110 is shooting 7.62mm... SPR and SAM-R are both shooting 5.56mm (wich i consider pretty lame due to lack of punch at long range).
SPR is in service since 2002 ( invasion of Afganistan ) i dont know if they issue it only to special force... but i know US Army is using it(since S.F.G are part of USAr.). My point is there, SPR and SAM-R are the same weapon except SAM-R barrel is not made for suppressor.

Original Poster, please use the search feature and already suggested thread above before posting what you think is a new idea.

The SAM-R accurized M16A4 is/was only used in 2nd Marine Division units, from what I understand. Recently, the Marines acquired the Mk-12, which is making its way into the line infantry companies as a squad DMR. It looks like it will stay there for a while and eventually replace the SAM-R and the bipod-and-ACOG equipped M16A4s used in the rifle squads.

Hotrod, the photo you posted of the SAM-R is mislabeled; that is a Mk-11. The Marines began using them a couple of years ago. In the scout-sniper units it is phasing out the M14 DMR assembled by the USMC Precision Weapons Section. It will probably eventually replace them in the Security Forces/FAST Companies and Military Police SRTs.
