Gulf Of Oman WAC AA problem
Haven't really heard much at all on this,but it really ticked me off today,while I was playing...
The game had just started and I got the Cobra (FINALY GOT IT FOR ONCE,OMFG,wish PR would bring more vehicles back into things..like in past versions) and I began to head for the shore,to help out some brave infantry that landed on the beach from a boat.Right as I came up on the beach,i pretty much instantly blew up,due to all the AA ****...The MEC have so much AA on that map,the aircraft,mainly the Cobra,become useless...Some of the AA the MEC have on that map needs to go...So the aircraft can actually fly...
Note:And I'm a pretty good pilot,so,it wasn't "my flying" lol...There wasn't even a lock-on beep or nothing,i was just taken out because of it all..was pretty rediculous..

we need a biger version of oman , or a beach assault map , becaouse the current one dosent fit IMO.
and agree on you about the vehicles , seems like devs give vehicle warfare the importance that it deserve

Gulf of Oman is being removed from the PR for the next version.
We advise all server admins against using this map in their map rotation as it currently has very bad gameplay and does not represent our mods quality gameplay very well

Only way of sucessfully using the cobra on Oman is doing atrillery like shots on markers placed by spotters or commander.
So you stay very high and near carrier, then when a squad needs some support on a area. The SL will put a accurate marker on the target. Which then the commander puts the cobras attack marker directly on...
Then all the cobra does is unleash hell...
This actually works extremely well if the communication chain is good.

I like gulf of oman. I just think that there is a bad placement of flags in the map which hurts game play
oh and as for the AA, cobras should move in after the infantry destroy the AA with a HAT or explosives. so AA is fine In my opinion
It would be nice to increase the view distance so the map so cobras won't have to get so close

nah just bad AA. very bad AA. very naughty evil badass AA. that and fukd up flight caracteristics. I know. cause I am drunk and angry and on holidays.

Well since it's being removed next version,I guess,nvm then,lol...I like Gulf Of Oman alot,but I must agree,PR has outgrown it,like Muttrah v1...
Whatever happened to my "Cobra Re-Skin suggestion thread"...Are the Devs. gonna do anything with it...All the Cobra needs is "MARINES" on the tail,and made a tad bit darker grey...

How 'bout a version without heavy assets?
As mentioned helicopters are already handicapped due long range AA and MEC usually has no use with the 2 Tunguska's, T90s, BTR-90s and BMP3s since by the time they spawn the map ends due ticket bleed and USMC excessively dying.

It was your flying, you need to stay low with the gunship on that map. (Just like you would in RL, but for some insane reason it is better to stay high and blitz flags in Qinlinglingling) Yea, not a great map, Oman...And if your in a gunship, you gotta creep up along side the infantry at like 10 feet off the ground using the gunner to destroy vehicles with .50 cals.
Also, it is my opinion that those silly AA guns are NOT needed. allthough they force the clever players low down in the chopper, they are just too darned easy to use. And sombody went to the trouble of making an Anti-air kit, and i would say its one of the least used kits in the game!
