A little more customization

Post by LRN »

I.
I've been playing this game for quite some time and I know what kits are for however I was wondering if the devs would be so kind as to add a little more customization to the weapons / equipment.
1. An optional silencer for example
2. New scopes (with incrementable magnification, IR vision etc) or at least give us the option to customize the existent ones.
If there's something that puts me off about this game it's the UK forces rifles scopes. Please do something about that. Chinese scopes are better but still not something to like. Crysis scopes look good just to give you a reference that has little to do with reality.

3. New ammo types. (perhaps add more piercing power allowing certain weapons to shoot through walls - like sniper rifles - thermal view on a scope would help - such scopes do exist, watch Discovery.

II. Sniper rifles don't feel like sniper rifles at all. I suppose no one told you this because very few get the opportunity to get their hands on one. Adding more detail /redesigning the skins should help. Add more sniper rifles to the game like the Barret M82A1. Sounds need to be adjusted too. And don't forget about the accuracy.

Ya! I'm all the way with ya there

also it would be nice to have the rifles like the Berret 50 caliber back and allow these anti material rifles disable destroy mines, Destroy mounted MGs disable car engines, blow tires ect.

1. People in the field wouln't have optional silencers, would they?? I mean unless they are Spec Ops, they don't have them.
2. IR Vision is hardcoded I believe, British Scopes are what you see in real life, as with the Chinese ones, it not like the DEVs make up the scopes lol.
3. The BF2 engine doesn't allow for things to go through walls like in COD4 sadly.

II. I agree a lot of them need a remodel, however the M82 was in game, but was taken out due to balance issues I believe.

How about a new weapon, Steyr AUG? Its a assaultrifle made in Austria, and it has a scope, and you have probably seen it.

Two words: "Standard issue".

Counter-Strike != Real life. Infantry don't wander over to the armoury one day and insist today's the day they'd like a silencer for fantasy weapon X.

Your complaint will be noted and forwarded to the British Department of Defence, although I wouldn't bet on a re-design any time soon. =D

Every single word is gold. Well done.

yes it dose, just not to the same exstent as cod4

tank rounds apc etr will pass through the distructerbles,(aslong as the round dosnt destroy it), and infact the Ch2 MBT will take out two walls with one round if the aim is good, the round passes through the 1st taking it out and then the second

many of the thin fences you see such as the one around helicopter air base on fools roads can be shoot through using small arms fire,

If you look closely, some of the static cars will allow fire to go through them too. I think he was referring to actual walls used to make most of the in-game buildings. The engine is pretty craptastic when it comes to a decent penetration model.

Also, you can use the neat little "Edit" button to add on to one of your previous posts so you don't have to post twice. ...Like I just did. =D

BTW Apparently the British may be changing their scope to an ACOG(the M16 scope) so you may have your wish granted.

Me too, I don't have any difficulty getting a ton of kills with it.

BF2 engine doesn't allow the same type of scopes as crysis does.

I mean when zoomed in the surroundings are zoomed too, not only what you see in the scope. Thats why we have the black around it. Kinda unrealistic i know...

Anyone know the reasoning/science behind the needle, because I've noticed compared to the ACOG and the Chinese Scope, I hit more often with the SUSAT despite its rather plain appearence.
