first off I know I spelled artiliry wrong so you dont have to post about that.
Ok, so I was watching a show on the military channel and it showed the howester ( I know i spelled that wrong too.) and it was used for the USMC. I just thought it could be used by them as support to infantry, and would fire only about 3 or 5 rounds. it would be requested by a squad leader and the commander would aprove of it, but can not be set by the commander. To balance it for the other teams it could be morter fire instead and would fire more rounds but smaller ones.
And for the auto reload just take it out of the game because its unrealistic. Please post what you think about my suggestion.

Re: Artilry and auto reload
Well, that's just the same as VBF2 so that wont be implemented. But maybe a manual artillery mechanism could one day make it in. I've seen a rocket platform truck thingy in the NAW mod, never actually used it. But I think that sort of premise would work great on maps like Kashan. Where someone, or maybe several maybe, could jump into this artillery truck and manually aim and fire the ordinance. Would deffinently work for team-play, and considering similar is done via CAS I don't see any real reason why a ground version of the CAS system couldn't be implemented.

I dont think taking out auto-reload is so important. I dont use it, and i think its not half as useful as it sounds (I want to choose when to reload so not every enemy sees i'm out of ammo). But if one wants to use it, i dont care. It is half a second faster than pressing the trigger one more time, realizing the mag's empty and pressing R.

Howitzers are used by the USMC and the US Army, and they are available in several different variants to include Towed and SP, in 105mm and 155mm calibers, firing a large variety of munitions dependant on their assigned targets. Howitzers are primarily used for supporting infantry-based missions but are also capable of other roles such as anti-armor and precision strikes. The majority of military vehicles are actually designed for Infantry support, as the grunts are the heart of the military. Everything else is intent on supporting them in some manner.Craz3y|Assasin wrote:first off I know I spelled artiliry wrong so you dont have to post about that.

The problem we have here is that while artillery support would be greatly appreciated on some maps, it should not be included until it can be done correctly. The subject of artillery and mortars has been brought up so many times that under most circumstances anyone creating a new topic like this would have their nuts shaved with a rusty razor. Trust the developers, it is being looked at and they are looking for ways to integrate it into the mod in a realistic and balanced manner.
As for the auto-reload, I don't see any problem with it. You are playing the game in the role of a military soldier or a crackhead insurgent. Anyone in those roles would have at least the minimal firearms training or experience to know when their weapon is empty and to reload as necessary. Hardcoded or not, it's common sense to reload when your mag is dry and "gun no bang bang". As stated before, I am assuming most of us perform combat reloads anyways.

Yeah, the MRLS thingies. Have spec ops or squad leaders lase a target and then the guy in the vehicle can fire one rocket per click, and once the rockets get in a certain range of the lased target, they'll lock on and home in on the target.

Both have been suggested before, artillery is coming, the auto-reload thing was being looked at if I am not mistaken.
Locking for re-suggestion.
