label streets on map

label streets on map

in Rl do they give streets and hills code neames..or even use the real names...i was thinking it would be nice to put those in pr maps to help team work because often i hear this in comunication

If pr makes the switch to topograph maps, then this would be sweet. Mappers could have fun with this.

ya it would be a bit clutterd...but it would be fun to make up names for streets

Well I think the idea would be to make them small enough so that the players can only read it if they zoom in. But yeah, things like this would help navigation a whole lot. After all, imagine what things would be like in the real world without street signs...

It would be cool if there were some other labels too. To identify other things like mountain ranges, lakes, rivers villages etc. Just general points of interest.

name all the streets then model a street sign for each one!

but since its all gonna be in arabic and chinese.....maybe not...

not if u make the font small...or make it so u only see it when zoomed...or to make it less crowded..just put numbers on the streets....names are probally too big

This is a really great idea, could you imagine the imersive feel to pr. I mean it would just add so much depth to the game and a whole lot easier moving around the city, just imagine being cut off from your squad and them saying hey meet up at the corner of so and so. Also the suggestion for labels for mountain ranges and general points of interest is a great addition. Wonderful suggestion IMHO.

would people "hate" the idea of signs that should be in Chinese/Arabic/Russian but were put in the game in english, i mean they could still be Chinese/Arabic/Russian names but english letters. not quite 100% realistic but would add the same sort of gameplay.

one of the signs at the mine in qwai river is in arabic so it wouldnt be any less realistic than that.

one of the better suggestions thats come allong, and I completely support it if its could be implemented in way that doesn make the mini map look like one big cluster f#$k of words
